Being a realtime action game like many other MMOs out there, Spiral Knights desperately needs servers in Europe. I've been playing for a few days now and I recognize the symptoms of network lag that I also see in other US-based realtime MMOs, it really cuts down on my game experience (and even so, I still enjoy the game, which proves how much more enjoyable it would be with a decent latency).
Obviously the choice is a financial one for OOO to make, whether or not the investment would be wise is nothing I can estimate without looking at server traffic, but I can say that at least I would be more inclined to spend money on the game if the latency issue was resolved.
I'd imagine the only other way to improve latency for European players would be by improving the netcode, but I'm uncertain how much room there is for improvement in the current code.
i'm from europe too (from czech republic) and i wana european servers too, can someone tell us if is this planned?
