The Luminite Crisis! (Append indefinite string of exclamation marks here)

It can't be just me.
It seems that people have been choosing all other minerals over our poor, sunny friend Luminite, and it seems to show in all the strata that appear. It's all been Dark Matter-aligned themes as of late, and anything that happens to be Luminite-aligned could have come about from ANTI-MINERAL DISRUPTIONS.
Okay, that's sorely empirical observation, and it's likely to be flawed, but to humor my paranoia (but not just to humor my paranoia), could maybe some of us perhaps gather Luminite for the next few weeks or something?
Or if not, we can talk about making Tier 2 strata not suck so much. I'm tired of undead and fiends.

Well, honestly I like the predictability of the Luminite payout and always favor picking it up. If I'm on a depth and get 3 large crystals and one is Luminite I will always pick that one up because it's all but guaranteed I'll get 4 per mineral at one of the gates. Valestone is a good second as it is probably the 2nd easiest to find at 4. Crimsonite and Moonstone are about equal and not common at all, and Dark Matter of course is seemingly the hardest to find at 4 per.
I really don't know why it occurs this way, particularly since I don't really know anyone that actually wants to fight fiends and undead gets boring, especially the graveyards where you're constantly waiting for them to rise from their graves and it's just a snoozer.

I have fairly even all mineral numbers, so I didn't notice there was a shortage :U
It's a conspiracy!
I myself have somewhere over 850+ Luminite to contribute, for whatever, idk, the party doesn't tell me what's the theme to make me look silly.
Like that time it was a superhero convention and I got stuck dressing up as a book because I thought it was about objects of intellectual importance.

It's rather simple to explain the lack of luminite. Stratas will frequently contain minerals which they are not made up of. Jelly is made up of Green and Yellow, while Fire is made up of Red and Yellow. Seeing as Jelly King and Firestorm Citadel are run more than anything else, it goes to reason why there is so little Luminite in circulation, with a minor lack of Green and Red minerals.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who's noticed this annoying trend. T.T Although, in my runs for the past week or two, dark matter minerals have been friggin' common/abundant. It could be the game is messin' with us. I keep having to ask peeps not to pick up those purple things.....
:o
Let's grab us all some moonstone and crimsonite people! Let's make it Darkfang Hunting Season!

I have over 6000 of each mineral. I AM an arcade gate.
And you're right. I typically find that yellow/blue are the rarest.

Forget that, I want my Stygian Steeds level to show up!
D<

You do realize the sizes are the amount minerals you can get?
There are 1 (one tiny spike), 2 (two spikes), 3 (three spikes), and 4 (4 very large spikes)
If I was about to pick size 3 random mineral and 1 luminite, I definitely pick the random mineral 3*3 = 9 cr, compared to 1*4 = 4 cr.
This math just for posting a silly post.

Now that you mention it, my supply of Luminite is at the lowest, with a 801 mineral count between it and my most plentiful supply, which coincidentally happens to be Dark Matter. I had never noticed this before... There must be more to it than what meets the eye.
I believe something sinister is in the works here, fellow knights.

I thought the anti-mineral trolling died with the introduction of Missions.
I don't even care where I deposit now, I just pick whatever gives 4 crowns per mineral.

I find it amusing how people don't actually read (or care) about the reasoning behind the shortage
I wonder how many more times this must be posted before people understand.

x) We all need big fat blazing red arrows to direct everyone's attention.
(dark matter minerals're poisonous!)

What are you talking about? As far as I've witnessed, minerals are completely random. I just pick up the biggest one.
Also why do more people do Royal Jelly than Roarmulus Twins? And what about danger missions?

RT has a less interesting payout, and a JK has less lag.

what the hell does this have to do with what I'm whining about
You can tell which minerals are being avoided by seeing what pays the most in the Arcade gates. Luminite is almost always at 4/unit, while Dark Matter is usually at 2/unit. I suppose that when you think about it, that has to be intentional.
Personally, since I'm a veteran KoA grinder it actually helps to have a mineral I know will pay well, but I imagine those dedicated to the original Clockworks would find it frustrating. Fiends aren't entertaining at all, and undead are only marginally better.
