Hey everyone,

I was just wondering if I could ask a question about the mist well? Basically my understanding is that if you put mist into the well you get +2% of whatever you put in.
I don't understand how this is effective, does that mean if I put in 100 of my mist and repull it out I get 120 mist? I'm not quite sure. Also with people who multilog surely they could loop this infinitely?

Thanks,

P.S

I'm not promoting a cheat/loophole I'm genuinely asking why it's like this as I don't see the logic?

It's 20%, not 2%.

The minimum deposit is 500CE : you can't put mist in, only crystal energy, and you can only withdraw mist, which effectively shut down any loop. There is no way you can have more than 80% return on that mist without running through the clockworks (for example, trinket/weapon slots reselling is probably around 50-75% of the mist you can convert back into CE, which would be a loss using the well).

the point

Fradow explained the mechanics well. This leaves the question: What is the point of mist wells?

The point of the guild hall update is to strengthen the meaning of guilds, so that they are not just chat lines, but communities where people share resources and bind their prosperity to one another. The mist well is just one example. A generous, rich guildie can fund a lot of playing time for a lot of lesser (or poorer) guildies. I'm not saying that I'll be using it much, though...

Yep, however sometimes we cannot be too generous to the less abled as they might as well take advantage of whatever generosity the guild may provide.

There is another use of the mist well than the one Bopp mentionned (totally forgot that question sorry) : when you are low on mist, you may want to craft or do a run but don't have enough mist for that. Most players will just log off and wait for the mist to refill, but some heavy players would instead use CE. Instead of using CE, they now have the option of refilling from the well and putting CE back in : that way, they have 20% more energy at their disposal.

For that, you have to play enough so that you can muster the 500CE at once deposit. I'm one of those players and I love the well for those 20% more.
