i am posting this because i find alot of new people do not understand how to get through it without energy reving alot. here is how to do it:
step 1: do not fight just run get to lift the payout in candlestick is low on heat and cr, unless u have to which will be very little chance of that "example button fight areas with gate".
step 2: always light as much of the candles as u can to keep gremilkat aka big black spookat will go away if he goes near light also do not fight him he is not able to be damaged.
step 3: block attacks only when its close range or far if its howlitzer (gremilkat just run and dodge blocking will not help), a shadow base def shield will help skelly series for example works.
step 4: read step one. if you are in lower tiers its okay to fight but only if you have higher star gear if not just run to lift.

other things to add a shadow base armor will help low the damage from monsters, if you do not know what they are hit wiki button then armor i suggest skelly or if gunner then go shadowsun/deadshot which ever u prefer as first sets, lair armors (snarbolax/crusader/so on) are good but those not great as first armor sets to go after make them your 2nd or third set.

Processing Thoughts of You Always

The solution to Candlestick Keep is, as with all things, Polaris.

Grimalkin coming behind you? Knock it away with Polaris explosions.
Howlitzers in your face? Shut 'em up with Polaris.
Trojan spawn? Shove it outta your way with Polaris.
Kats everywhere? Hit 'em with your shocking Polaris gun-grenades, then shoot some more whilst they're spasming on the floor.
Annoying teammates? Shoot the explosive blocks and blow them up!

Please note: following the above advice may not make you the most popular person in SK.

Grimalkins are only a trouble if you have an unnorganized party. If you keep them all together behind you you can dance with them.

They are bad at turning they don't "brake"

quite so

Yes, I find that I have the most trouble with grimalkins when the rest of my party runs ahead of me. Because then all of the grimalkins that spawn to attack them end up attacking me instead. If your party sticks together, then they are not much of a problem.

I agree with elements of Kamen-Rider-Faiz's advice, but disagree with his fundamental strategy of running through the level as fast as possible. Just keep the candles lit diligently. Whenever you enter a room, light the candle, then fight the monsters, then light the candle again. When grimalkins show up, either stay in the candle light, or run big enough circles in the dark that the grimalkins can't catch you.

Really, it seems to me that a lot of people have trouble with Candlestick Keep because it's often loaded with kats, and kats are one of the most under-estimated monsters in the game.

OP is right. these levels arent very profitable at all, but i personally like clearing out levels entirely, and if u wish to do the same heres a few tips!

*dodging grimalkins: if u are in a corridor going north and south and grimalkins are chasing you, go as far left or right as u can, then when the grimalkin is charging you just walk the other way and he'll float by harmlessly by. in other words, exploit his slow turns and inability to slow down easily!

*dodging undead turrets: after you kill one, run in a descending spiral. even in t3 they should be easily avoidable like this because their turn radius is always greater than what your avatar can do. you can also try killing turrets and then hiding behind the blocks they sometimes spawn near, but the spiral running is a nice maneuver to know because it works on rocket puppies too.

*in general, its best to kill the turrets first, then the kats. if the skellies run around you, u can just bump them away or try to stay on their backsides. attack them if they spit because that greatly limits your options in an area. dont surrender turf easily!

*keep candles lit, and dont be afraid to run all the way back to a blue candle if you need to to fight monsters and get rid of pesky grimalkins!

I've found the payout isn't

I've found the payout isn't soooo bad anymore, on the later end of t3. Rough levels to be sure, but not impossible. My key advice is the opposite of OP: don't run. Stay together, and go slow. Slooooow. Keeping the candles lit, and taking your time, means you can deal with Kats and Howlitzers fairly easily. It's running and getting swarmed by Kats and then munched by a Grimalkin on low health that causes problems. These are what the graveyards used to be, and sprinting through causes more death than carefully picking the level apart.

I once asked here how to get through candlestick keep. I realized somethin during the run actually. That is too NEVER! Stay in one spot. Also I sped run the keep by runnin like hell! Unless u need to hit a switch and wutnot. In fact during the end of the run only I was alive with half a heart! And my teamates lay there dead in the middle of a bunch of howlitzers and kats. I was like sryy u aint gettin yer heat and went on the elevator. I hate that level.

Also I heard my friend in the party screamin like heck when all the grimalkins were chasin him (we were skypin) it was very funny.

Rockets

I find Grimalkins resemble rocket puppies (or their rockets, to be precise). And, like Graveyards, I never speedrun; I slowly and methodically collect all the crowns and heat I am entitled to. I solo, though, so I don't need to worry about multiple Grimalkins.
