I'm not totally sure why you want to know how fast you're going in relation to other players. Some players are P2P, some have more time on their hands, there's no shame in moving slowly.
That being said, that's not super slow. Starting out in this game takes a while, but once you can play the money-making missions, you're good to go. F2Pers have become 5* in a couple months.
I myself became 5* in ~4 and a half-sh months (I believe it was July '11 ~ October '11), but I did have help. So while I'm F2P, I had 2 months of Summer (more playing time) and some rich P2P friends who initially (sadly they don't anymore lol) gave me some CE to start out. He was progressing so quickly through the game by buying CE that he gave me some to keep up. I think it was 1K CE, which was very helpful.
If you're asking for pointers, this game is grind-based for sure. Running, Re-running, and re-re-running Boss Missions is basically the best way to make money, as far as Missions/the CW go. Randomly playing the Arcade to get money will be slower by a pretty good margin.
