So uh. I'm totally new to Spiral Knights and all (like, 2 days old and no idea what I'm doing half the time), but I think it's cute. I'm not very good with forums at all, but I like drawing, so... I figured I could try to do some sketches, if anyone's interested? It's sort of difficult, since I'm not used to armor, and the characters are cute but cluttered and confusing. But I'll try. They'll come out like people, since I'm not good with much else, haha.
Example: Bechamel (aka the accessorizer NPC lady or something)

I won't be colouring anything I draw, probably, since it's a bit time consuming, but I'll try to get at least a few sketches done. (Unless someone decides to commission me but that's... probably impossible. And I don't even know what things are worth.)

I guess... Post references of your character (and gender because I cannot for the life of me tell their genders) and I'll try my best. Or just talk. Talking's always okay with me. /noob ;_;

EDIT: If you don't give me a hair style/gender/age, then I'll draw whatever I see fits. I have no idea what any of your genders are unless you say something or unless it's extremely obvious, haha... orz

also, I did NOT know bechamel was a guy. This has now become embarrassingly hilarious. Genderhelpplease.

Oh wow I'm really bad at this whole SK thing.

I just realized that avatars are pretty much your character. Whoops. I guess I don't need references if that's the case, haha. I really can't tell much from it though, besides the fact that you look like an astronaut with a glowing head. Any preferences on what's under the helmet? (Male/female?) Or I'll just... try... to make something out of it.

I was drawing Kora and... I didn't notice there was a post here until now! My hand sort of hurts at the moment (applied too much pressure, oops.) So I'll draw yours tomorrow! I'm not quite sure how I'm going to approach it (helmet on, helmet off, stick this cutie pie smiley face on the face... I have no idea). But I'll figure something out.

Oh. Wow. Uh. I didn't know there'd be this many. Stuff happened, so I can't draw right now. But tomorrow, probably. Or monday. I'll get them all done, haha.

If anyone has suggested price ranged for me, that'd be helpful. Prices in crowns or CE would be good. /noob

If you could draw one of my knights with one of Sol's, with Sol's knight giving/offering mine a flower, that would be great. We have lots of costumes, so pick the ones you feel most comfortable drawing from these.

I can pay with CE, crowns, or items, whichever you prefer. Feel free to add me in-game if you want to talk about the commission or even just chat about whatever. ^.^

ALRIGHT. So I manned up and did all of the sketches. I got really lazy and a lot of the anatomy broke and the clothes don't make sense and I'm so confused right now. But oh well.

Aha, I'm honoured and I'd be happy to do commissions for you two!

For now, I'll be working independent from Arcelle, since I don't know what she'll be doing.
I was wondering if this pricing would be okay, or if it's too much:
[x] Half Body - 1k CE
[x] Full Body - 2k CE
* Prices are per-person, so for two full body people, it'd be 4k CE, etc.

As for backgrounds:
[x] Simple backgrounds - 1k CE
[x] High detail backgrounds - 2k CE

65 CR = 1 CE

So for two full body people with a detailed background, it'd be 6k CE in total or 390k CR. Backgrounds are painful for me to do most of the time, haha... I'm lazy. I was considering putting items as replacement for payment, but... I'd probably be too weak for any of them. Haha...

I'd be grateful for any feedback on the pricing (ex. it's too high or something of the sort). And let me know what you specifically want in terms of half/full body pictures, backgrounds, eye colour, hair colour, skin tones, etc. (If you don't tell me... I'll just do my own interpretation or something.) I don't know how much I'll be able to get done today, and I'll be gone on Saturday. I can keep drawing on Sunday, and then exams are going to be killing me until Wednesday. Also not sure how fast I'll work. orz /ramblingatthispointsorry

I'll add the two of you on Sunday, probably. ;w;

Anyways awesome sketches! The prices seem fine but if you're unsure about it you can always check other commission threads for comparison :d
And 1ce doesn't always equal 65cr, not too long ago 1ce was 90cr, so the prices are bound to change after the christmas event.

As for the cr to ce conversion... I see. Humm... That's a dilemma. *_*~

EDIT: Arcelle suggested I just remove the whole crown conversion anyhow, since I could always sell the ce. Which is true. And I'm just a big ol' silly.
Aaaaaand she talked with me and we'll make a joint art shop either on Sunday or Wednesday. Our pricing will be the same, probably, You can just order from whoever you want (or if you want someone else to do the colouring, etc. I'll go into more detail when the shop comes out I guess).

I remember that. I used to play a few years ago. Got tired of how repetitive everything was and the constant reskinned pets, not to mention the whole demigod-dragon-walrus-lasers-obnoxious-flopping-around-nonsense after the alchemy update. I think I completely turned away when the Romeo and Juliet generation was in a couple months for the whole Shakespeare series. I miss the original generations. Really liked the story for the original trilogy.

Like the other guys said, I guess you should take out the conversions. On top of that, I think that you'll have to do the crown price only. CE is a constantly fluctuating currency, but crowns remain the same price unless there is another sink (there have been no new sinks as of lately).

Despite that, maybe keeping a CE only commission might also work, since the CE you get might fluctuate in your favor.

Anyhow, you'll be rich by the time this is over and done with. That would be enough wealth to change the economy at your will (look up how a rich player controls the CE economy in the wiki).

I'm at a stalemate. Your choice.

BTW...

Is the simple Background that expensive?! My god.

Just wanted to chime in here ...

It's actually CE that's the stable currency and crowns that fluctuate in comparison to it, as CE is purchased with actual money and therefore has a set value in relation to that. That's why most artists and forum item vendors use it to set their base prices.

Also, unless you keep up a constant flow of commission, finishing multiple a day, you're unlikely to become as rich as Vinnydime would have you think, so please don't get an inaccurate idea of how much money you'll make. You'll likely get a fairly steady stream of customers, but there will always be things that prevent you from becoming that economy-shatteringly wealthy (like you wanting to actually do other things with your time. XD)

That being said, price feedback (since you ask for it): definitely remove the conversion, as next week it may be entirely different. You can work it out at the time. I honestly get people who'll pay me partially in CE and just automatically convert the rest into crowns, and I don't really mind. Your background prices seem a little high in relation to the work to do a background vs the work to do a full figure, but I can totally understand doing that on purpose if you don't much care to do many of them. XD (I don't like doing backgrounds either)

In relation to my own commission, when you guys are ready I'll probably pay each of you for a half-body of two knights, but if either of you feel that a full-body pose sounds more appropriate for what you have in mind, go for it and I'll pay you the difference. I don't particularly care if I get a background, so none needed there. ^.^

Haha... Backgrounds.

I'll probably drop the background prices to 500 CE (simple) (or less) and 1000 CE (detailed stuff). I really hate doing backgrounds, so it'll just be there to deter people. I'm too lazy to do them properly, haha...

@Luguiru: Yes, it is Mabinogi! I'm semi-active there, but... it's mainly just because I like the amount of customization available. I loved G1 - G3, but... I don't think I ever did much in terms of the storyline beyond that. I liked Hamlet, but never finished it. It might just be because I can't fight or do anything since combat is way too weak, and everyone uses magic/range except me. I don't know. I like it, but I don't play much.
I've gladly never drawn a chaos knight before and I refuse to ever do such a thing. e_e i applaud anyone who accomplishes such a feat.
