Which did you guys like better? The Punkin-finding or the unlimited Prestige?

In the Winter Festival, you get about 85-ish tokens per run on average, according to what I've seen, with some exceptions, like that occasional 95+ token run.

So, that's ~850 tokens per day. At 200 tokens a day per box, that's 4.25 boxes a day, assuming you're running only on Mist and using all 100 Mist/day on the Prestige re-runs.

During the Halloween event, we got about 15 tokens per pumpkin find, IIRC. They were 3 different varieties and it took 25 of one kind to get a box. If you would assume that each 3 runs you'd get 15 of each token, 50 mist would be 5 runs, about 25 of each token, 3 boxes. 100 ME = 6 boxes with invites, more or less.

Looks to me like the Halloween boxes were easier to get.

Tons of p2p ppl still have elevator passes from the guardians armor pack sale (including me) so this new prestige mission is completely spammable. u could make about 85 per run, 5 runs in an hour, play 3 hrs a day and there's ur salary
450+ per hr = 2.25 prize boxes
1350+ for a normal day (3 hrs)= 6.75 prize boxes

well i think tier 3 should

well i think tier 3 should give more tokens because the difficult that mission its at tier 3. most of the players are farming tier 1 with alts or newbie players (Which i see good thing and i mean helping tier 1 players xD) but the only easy and good way to get 100 tokens per run its run with 3 guys 5 stars and one guy tier 1. :/ so yes its harder to get tokens, while halloween event was a way easier and more rewarding on tier 3.

But meh i will keep helping tier 1 players to get 100 tokens per run :P

This does not pertain to EP users. EP users can get virtually unlimited boxes from either event. You cannot mathematically determine which one is more widely available by going through EP users.

Therefore, I use a more controlled measurement, F2P players. My conclusion is that, even doing T1 runs, you got more harvest boxes than frosties with your 100 ME.

@Hope: Yes, I agree, the only way you can do this in a timely manner and most efficiently is in T1. T3 is he-double-hockey-sticks. It really should give better rewards. I wouldn't be surprised if they nerfed all the token rewards in T1 and T2, instead of giving more in T3.

I meant Unlimited Prestige Missions, as in it's playable an unlimited amount of times. Sorry for ambiguity.

EDIT: Oh, to add to this, all you people who play LD for lots of fun can now blow a ton of coins very quickly on boxes. They're expensive, but it's a great KC sink since so many people I know have hundreds with nothing to do with.

Halloween boxes were not only easier to get, they were faster. With invites, you could knock out six boxes in about 20 minutes, while it takes over an hour to do 10 SWFs. I do however think that the Winterfest is a better, albeit more monotonous, model to use; seeing as it depends on how well you do the mission rather than how lucky you are at finding lairs. It also sucks up huge amounts of mist without generating any crowns, heat, or materials.

Another thing about this one is that you can't really abuse alts to get extra tokens. Well, you can, but with only one player to move around you'll get fewer boxes, so it would be the same as if you had played in a full party anyway.

i mean they can just join to an Alt tier 1 (anchor) to keep doing tier 1 mission with their friends. its true that looking for pumpking wasnt easy. but on pumpking hunt, tier 1 give less token, tier 2 give decent amount of tokens, and tier 3 give the most tokens you can get. here you can get the same amount of tokens. the only difference its the group of players and their skill. so a skilled T3player on tier 1, easily they can get 100 tokens, while on tier 3 its a bit tedious and you can get the same amount its good geared or less if your group dont go with good gear :/

oh well :P time to dive with some tier 1 groups hehehe oh well anyway i will keep doing this before T1 tokens get nerfed xD

Also, never heard of anyone getting close to 100 tokens in T3 yet. Highest I've heard of is ~75 in T3, because you actually have to use status bombs or spam trollaris while you're walking, otherwise you die too easily.

Same here...wish I had an EP, I'd farm it all day.

well the last run i did on

well the last run i did on tier 3 i got 84 tokens. we have: 1 DBB (CTR med, lvl 10 plus CTR med trinket) one of those new shards bombs that deal Stun (sorry i dont know the name) 1 swordie 1 gunner.

we stick togheter so bombers go first to get the aggro of the mobs. and the other guys just run to deliver the gift. rarely died, but those guys where good at playing. but one mistake and you lose tokens (i remember we have a troubles with the gates in one run and we only got 75 tokens). so... the best way to waste the mist enery / ce energy for tokens its always to go Tier 1 or Tier 2 with someone alt or a new player.

CTR max on snarby bomb really helps on tier 3. but on tier 1 and tier 2 its a path cleaner for your friends.

I was referring to letting your alt(s) sit there while you do the mission solo and get 2-4x the tokens. That worked with Punkin King but doesn't work so well with this Winterfest.

@Sev - Oh, people have been getting more than 75 tokens a run; my guild party hit 81 on our best yesterday. Tier 3, two DBBs, two switching between polaris/supernova and toothpicks as needed.

That said, it was hard. And kinda fun, too.

~The increased difficulty in obtaining Winterfest boxes results in an increased price of winter items in and out of the AH. It's not as easy to obtain the perfect, custom costume now as opposed to the Dark Harvest when all the prices are doubled AT LEAST. =(

~Unlimited missions are more than balanced out by PK hunting in the clockworks, not to mention PK hunting actually gave you some crowns and heat.

~Haven's appearance was great during both, but I have to say I preferred the Winterfest's look to the Dark Harvest's.

In the end, DH was much better for obtaining the loot, though WF was possibly better aesthetically.

@OP: Winterfest is more of a crownsink, I think; the monsters don't give any crown drops, and the Punkin King had crown-rich Graveyard levels available before his level. It seems to be ensuring that people are spending their mist to gain tokens for the prize boxes, rather than farming FSC or whatever. Combined with the other lockboxes and massive crownsink of the new boss statues, and it's not really much of a surprise why the price of CE is dropping again.
The boxes may have been easier to get, but the tokens were somewhat harder to find after they removed the ability to replay the prestige mission at the same depth - after that, you had to rely on the Punkin King turning up in Clockworks levels, which, whilst good for the population of the Clockworks, was highly irritating if you had to run 10 levels just to see him once... As opposed to this, which drops a high amount of tokens over the course of one level, but requires more of them in order to acquire anything permanent.
Not to mention the costumes aren't orange. That's pretty important, too.
So yeah, I prefer Winterfest.

~Haven's appearance was great during both, but I have to say I preferred the Winterfest's look to the Dark Harvest's.

Dark Harvest's was pretty neat, but I noticed something...

The "Mist" in Haven, was really a re-textured and adapted form of Water. The water texture you see on the fountain in haven? The mist looked exactly like that. All they did was make it larger, change its color, make it more transparent, and added ghosts to it. Clever. I agree I like snow more too.

Yep, I agree. The only thing I don't really like is that us F2P players never have a chance of getting an Imposto suit, or Auras, or the re-released Crowns/Crests. At least we had a chance for the Haunted Aura during Halloween...That said, the "junk" we normally get from Frosty boxes is more expensive than it was during Halloween, so it may be easier to sell them and get what we want.

Punkin Finding

Definitely Punkin. Every winter prestige mission takes 10 minutes, rinse and repeat 10 times you get 100 minutes of avoiding hax greavers and ragequit inducing devilites.
Punkin at first was do the prestige mission 5 times, which was like an hour. Then it was do the prestige mission and get guild/friends to invite into clockworks, which ended up being 30 minutes.
So Punkin King was quicker and less repetitive, but with winter you could get more tokens (even counting for the inflation) daily.

To be perfectly honest, though Winterfest works better due to not producing any heat/crowns but sinking tons of mist, I like the Halloween event much more.

Winterfest is sooo monotonous. It's only the 3rd day and I already want to go back to FSC.

Maybe with some tweaking it'll be better next year.
