An idea i still wonder about, i wonder why not?
our knights dont have to be on horses, they could be on larger versions of monsters from the clockworks. such as a bat, wolver, chameleon, a 4-legged mechanical construct, and all sorts! u could also get newer types, for example a lion mount.
Enemies could be greater in amount too, as a knight on his armoured mount would qiute easily take the single. or even mounted type enemies, such as gremlins on similar 4-legged contructs, but less stylish obviously. or how about mechs? those horse headed knights in great number that can now be taken down by mounted attacks rather then hitting the weak spot? or Barghest mewcats, large stone warriors and mecha gremlins that are impervious to normal knight standard attacks.
for lances, our swords blade can simply be shrunk slightly and placed onto the end of an extended pole. same weapon with an increased range. and the charge attack can be used by our mount instead. guns can become mounted weapons, and bombs left behind of our our great mounts dash.
our mount could have a colour affected by our choice of colour of knights, also have armour schemes similar to what we are wearing as our armor/costume.
As for the levels in missions, arcade and LD. this would be a large map, that our mounts would cross faster then the averadge knight. normal enemies found within original levels can be found in larger number. with a group or individgual large enemie here and there. an LD game type would basically be fast combat, using our knights gear as the load out since it affects our mount, and could also have a beginning where both teams line up and then charge. of course the LD game still needs adjustment so im open to ideas, a capture the flag LD game seems like a good idea. as when you get the flag ur mount will slow a little making u vulnerable, so teamwork is brought back in this. damage and defence would be increased each, making things seem a little tougher but not really much different in terms of balance.

So, we would have a mount that matches our knight, a charge attack from our weapons thats instead dealt by our ride, different levels in missions and clockworks, a choice of mount such as a bat, larger more chaotic fights and possibly an LD game.

I can just see myself riding of into a war zone on a giant, black and green, armoured, king wolver......

Please don't bump threads,

Please don't bump threads, especially in the Suggestion Forums plus that you didn't improve anything to the discussion "Which didn't even start".

And seriously, it felt like I was reading about Robin Hood : The Crown Defender....

okay. few things.

#1- i have no idea what that is
#2- people bump threads already so why complain to me, bumping after a month due to no discussion is why i did bump and that seems reasonable.
#3- your own post isnt exactly discussing the topic, just about something people do. i appreciate the please and the asking nicely, but "seriously" little discussion apart from the "reading robin hood".

#4- EDIT- thought about LD, maybe smaller games with 4 or 3 a side to make normal LD still fun choice of coliseum and make the two slightly more different, and small walls, the ones you can normaly shoot over can be jumped over on a mount. does reqiure coding and visuals but adds to the levels. higher walls and barricades cannot be jumped. mounted guns can be largened slightly and bombs could be displayed on a bandolier around the hulking monster your riding.

Yes, bumping threads is commom, but it's still agaisnt the rules. He has the right to complain.

As for the idea, big maps and crowded fights that justify the use of mounts could be a memory hog for this small java game.
Ever been to a shadow lair?

@OP : I don't know what you

@OP :

I don't know what you don't have an idea about. But if you meant Robin Hood : The Crown Defender, then it is a videogame, an old one. It had a jousting mode so I referred to it. Secondly, people bump their threads when it is already agreed on from a decent number of the community, but bumping it while no one even commented on it, that gives no reason for the bump, let it die. And a small advice : If the people ignored your post since "19" days, that means they didn't like it, so bumping doesn't change anything.

1) IMO, people confuse Jousting with being an actual form of Battle. It was a sport.

Sure there might've been some guys on the battlefield pushing people off horses with a lance, but that was always a one-sided affair. You're not going to arrange a joust-off from halfway across the battlefield.

2) No. It doesn't work as a CW-type mechanic. Finding a Mecha-Suit (Like Ride Armour in the X series) would be more fitting than this.
