Is it cause of Steam players? Steam's library is mostly made up of First Person Shooter fans, and some people from TF2 has been playing some Spiral Knights. I've met a dude named Untitled that said I had a grammar fail and needed eye correction. I called him a racist, so I encouraged him predictably to say something racist. He was like y are u so aggressive? I told him that I'm not aggressive online, cause there was no point in being a p**** online, logistically speaking at this point. I just asked him what weapon he had besides Barbarous Thorn Blade for Vanaduke. He got all offended and moved slowly like a snob. Then he ended up saying that he was a boy to avoid blame and responsibility. Getting tired of butting in heads though with people now that I'm wearing a different costume and all and not when I had the Azure helmet. That kid had a guardian helmet too, tells us something about his views. Break the cycle of having to take responsibility, because it becomes pointless when you don't mean that you're sorry as a group.
How is it possible that a Japanese-inspired anime chibi game like Spiral Knights allows racists to play in this game? Is it..
But how is it possible to be a redneck(or support their speech) and still want to play child like games? It just makes you look bad with your peers like the ones from yahoo.com who claims that to only be a man you gotta stay away from games, go hunting, work long hours, spending the rest of your time with your family, instilling supremacy values and the wife being permanently inferior, hate Asian people by constantly reminding people of all races of the Asian inferiority, etc etc. I mean how does you make you more conservative to them if they know you waste your life like this? Anything I say about whites is not demeaning, it's meant to discourage their subtle racism, but they just keep doing that. And I only called him a racist and a white boy. He was getting smart by saying I was stupid by calling him a boy, while also claiming to be one by avoiding blame.
I love how you called this a chibi game :3 But still
Cute Cute Gremlins are CUTE <3 <3 even when they are aggressive they are just outrageously cute
On-topic, it is true that there are quite a lot of ignorant and arrogant players out there, and this is just the way anonymity works.
Yeah because it's more of a European medieval style to be honest. I only wore it cause I wanted to be associated with the eyes and the plume is like samurai hair to me I guess, but I guess closed ones will do. But other than that, the helmet visor is pretty much one of the knight style armor.
"How is it possible that a Japanese-inspired anime chibi game like Spiral Knights allows racists to play in this game"
To put it simply, OOO is a small company. They just can't have moderators tracking what people say and take action. Most online games can't. It's a problem everywhere. Also, bad people are everywhere. And just because it's cute doesn't mean everyone play for that part of the game. I don't. I play it for the game mechanism, especially the combat system, which is awesome.
"Steam's library is mostly made up of First Person Shooter fans"
That's laughable. Every genre is represented on Steam. Also, I'd point some sites on which SK is playable before Steam.
" I called him a racist, so I encouraged him predictably to say something racist"
Wow. Man, you are looking for it .... Calling someone racist because he pointed your mistakes ? You are the one at fault here. Though I'm not going to argue, that guy was impolite.
" I told him that I'm not aggressive online"
But you called him racist even though he didn't say anything racist in the first place. You are indeed aggressive. You even post your rage on the forums. If that's not being aggressive, I don't know what it is.
"That kid had a guardian helmet too, tells us something about his views."
Wait what ? That just means he got the guardian pack, either via credit card or Steam. Nothing wrong with it.
Seriously, check your own post before critizing others.
I almost don't want to play this game anymore knowing someone sees this game as an Anime-based game. Ew.
Some people can be easiest, people like that should be banned forever
Some people say "Asians shouldn't play this game"
I was horrified by that comment and confronted that person.
People like that...
This is one of them rant threads.
Dont pay any attention to them, kids.
My appologies in advance, but I am struggling to determine who is more racist from your rant. Perhaps a look in the mirror, or minimally, some clarification of your post is in order.
Is racist a bad term? Joshy calls me that all the time... I thought it was a term of endearment.
You can be called a racist in a tail helm too, not limited to guardian helms. Silly silly people. Silly silly Becca.
"I almost don't want to play this game anymore knowing someone sees this game as an Anime-based game. Ew."
While I can't understand how someone would think this game is anime-based, nobody ever mentioned anime, not even once.
They said "chibi", and unless I'm horribly mistaken, "chibi" is not directly related to anime and usage of the word extends far outside of japanese animated television.
Also, anime is cool bro.
That was a troll alert.... Need to turn on troll sensors, the posts on this thread are far from serious...
Except me, a kid told me I am racist against gingers... but I like gingerale so I don't know what the heck he was talking about...
"How is it possible that a Japanese-inspired anime chibi game like Spiral Knights allows racists to play in this game?"
Hmm, I see "anime" mentioned. Do you see it?
I don't know. I just immediately get a bad impression of online Anime games. Maybe because they always show large-breasted girls with tons of cleavage to attract players. But yeah, I agree with you, I have no idea how someone would think this game is a "Japanese-inspired anime chibi game".
"said I had a grammar fail and needed eye correction. I called him a racist".

" Japanese-inspired anime chibi game like Spiral Knights"
You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means.
@Irthan
/face palm
How, just how does that even relate?
This is the top 5 stupidest threads I've ever seen in this forum. And that's saying something.
+1 tennis. Anime..ew.
Shouldn't you be making moose steak?
Also be nice to gingers, its not their fault that they don't have souls.
VEGAN mouse steaks....
Also this:
Real Gingers? and no souls, but in opposition to this... competing opinions, Becca doesn't know what to believe now...
Fradow, Steam was originally a program that only contained Counter-Strike but later included other FPSes. It hardly has any other genres at this point even if it is trying to included like maybe 1-2 from an old game series.
Becs, the point of the US is that you should be less racist, but something is weird in america where white people with power must get the freedom to say whatever. I just wish the minorities in the world would just start to be more violent to whites for talking crap, shake them out of their passive racism through jokes and such, so they can attack back and show that deep down inside they will physically attack after altercations after taken place. I know white girls like to have power too over a man(never a white man when it comes to Asians, not having any power when it comes to you know the darker ones, they're really fickle in admitting their racist as well), to have influence over that group to do things they would not otherwise do or even if they have dissenters from that group. White women are like one of the epitome of self-deprecation where supremacists can also use to joke around with.
I did not say that Asians were superior, did I imply that in my post Kagisnad? Eye correction is considered inferior to whites. I was implying that if whites don't respect Asians but still get into games that are inspired by the gaming/anime subculture, they shouldn't support it. We need responses to these people, and social engineering is not working in the US. It's working for blacks though, they have some clout to shape people's behavior where blacks can't be viewed negatively. I've never heard Eminem talking crap about black people and culture yet.
Anyways, the point is that we don't want to encourage people like Untitled to play a game that requires mutual trade and teamwork regardless of your race and gender. And the HQ is located at SF CA so this is quite odd that not much is done with these representatives of states outside of their HQ. If we can't help but live with racists, it leads me to think we need another long term solution change, hopefully more efficient.
Passive racism? In a game where every character's skin is hidden behind face-concealing helmets and full body armor?
I don't even know what the guy said that was actually racist- he said "you need eye correction", which is fairly rude, but not racist. How is "you're visually impaired" racist?!
I do not condone actual racism of any sort; in my God's eyes all people are equal. Two key words are ANY SORT, a white guy being a jerk to a black guy because he's black is exactly as bad as a black guy being a jerk to a white guy because he's white. Another key word, and one the opening poster seems to misunderstand, is actual.
Where is the guy in here being racist? I see him being a little overzealous in his grammar correction, but then you go and call him racist. When he was not. He was right in asking "why are you so aggressive" because you were aggressive. You started an unnecessary argument.
Go on. Tell me what he actually said that was racist. If you are unable to give an (honest) example of what he said that actually was racist, and you can remember the entire conversation... why, that must mean he wasn't being racist!
"It hardly has any other genres at this point even if it is trying to included like maybe 1-2 from an old game series."
Wait what ? Are you sure you are looking at Steam ? On my library, on the top of my head : Mirror's Edge, Deus Ex, Mass Effect, Torchlight, The Witcher and Darksiders. What exactly do you think those games are ? And it's just very few games. You could add, from the main store screen, assassin's creed and Everquest. And countless others great games.
As for the "anime" inspiration, I didn't pick it before, but you really need to check what an anime is. SK graphics have nothing in common with animes culture. See Laraso explanation on what chibi is. It just means small characters with big heads, and isn't even used a lot in animes (frankly, the ones that use this are generally bad).
@Msaad Perhaps he was referring to the fact that there are asian servers, and asians should probably go on asian servers instead of US/EU ones. It's only a possible explanation though.
P.S. : lecturing people on racism over the internet on a game forum strikes me as kinda useless.
I would say that coming up with a good way to deal with racist/sexists remarks on online gaming is actually a big question for online games. I know that I've stopped playing a few games because of certain comments being said nearly every game. So if we on the forums come up with an easy and effective way to deal with haters and trolls then OOO might use it as a system to keep haters and trolls from ruining their game.
I know the guys and girls at extra credits did a video about this type of thing in gaming. Pretty smart people over there and I'd suggest watching.
"I wish just wish minorities in the world would be more violent to whites"
That makes everything else you say pointless.
Me thinks some people mistake the jokes...
Mental note - Must start all my posts on the forums with the title:
NOTE THIS IS A JOKE.
Check, one, two.
@Didy - you got that this was a joke right? :P But seriously HUG A VEGAN TODAY, we need all the hugs we can get.
Can I hug them until they soil their underpants?
It would be environmentally friendly soiled underpants.
How do you tell if there's a vegan at your dinner party?
How?
@BVMB - First EPIC name! Second Yay cupcakes, yay vegan, double yay vegan cupcakes, yay yay yay hugs...
@Didy - meant my posts, not speaking for everyone else
Still not getting the joke. Perhaps I am overly sensitive today.
Don’t worry. They’ll let you know.
is apparently the correct response according to google
also I am 50% azn, 50% scottish and 100% engrish
have terribad eyesight and play on steam
please discuss

If you're going to lie, at least make it remotely believable or slightly true. This is easily the dumbest thing I've heard today. This is, of course, ignoring all the other stupid in the previous posts.
I have no idea as to why I'm even saying anything at all, but I'm offended by the OP's racism against us Rednecks. I go cry at harsh words now boohoo.
What I see here is a butthurt (and possibly Asian by the prevalence of the term in his posts, but again, just an assumption) person throwing the word "racist" around with reckless abandon and little apparent knowledge of what the word actually means. I know racist people. That, my dear OP, was not racism on his part; it was racism on yours. Believe it or not, you can be racist against white people and I've seen it too dang many times in real life for anyone to tell me otherwise. And also, maybe learn about actual Rednecks before you start saying stuff like you know what you're talking about.
And would everyone stop blaming Steam for everything already? Geez! Steam is one of the best things that can happen to small game companies like OOO.
Steam's collection of games is not just full of first person shooters. It also contains puzzle games (portal 1 and 2, Indie games like Bastion, and this game Spiral Knights). First person shooters like CoD, BF3, Left 4 Dead, Halo series, and so many others make people violent. People also vent their anger from real life experiences (break ups, school, and the like). Moving on from these situations can be challenging believe me but only you can overcome these challenges. Sure people can be raging in MMO's (it's become a regular thing to see these days) there are solutions to this too you can send a report with a screenshot of the conversation. Well that's all I got now. Hope this thread gets resolved soon.

"First person shooters like CoD, BF3, Left 4 Dead, Halo series, and so many others make people violent."
Just... Where is the proof? Where?
Also, this.
It's not the game that makes them violent. The game provides the idea, but it's the person who decides to convert that into action, and integrate that into who they are.
I played Combat Arms, and Crysis, where you kill enemy players for no particular reason. Of course I think it'd be awesome to run around with guns/weapons and be able to use them, but playing them doesn't turn me into a psychopathic killer who thrives off the anguish of others.
That choice has to be MADE. If the player can do that anyway, then the person already had prominent issues regarding hatred towards others, or a sadist streak inside them from previous experience. The game will only provide material.
The sword doesn't kill, but the hand that wields it.
People who say that they're only the way they are because they had a rough time and played violent games, the two mixing to give them destructive tendencies are just giving excuses. There are other, and will be others who have had worse, and have lived better. It was their own choice to choose that path, not anyone else's.
Because OOO forgot to implement a dialog box that asks "Are you a racist? [Yes] [No]" and uninstalls the game if Yes is clicked.
