Alrighty here's the story
started SK ==> got to 5 star
wanted hammer ==> got steam and steam traded

BUT I'M RUNNING LINUX
I used playonlinux to download steam and redownload sk, blah blah usual stuff
and then I linked my account and played...

VERY VERY LAGGY
FPS of under 15 constantly.........

Bleedingxorange taught me how to play SK on non steam-client (through facebook, sign in through steam da da da)
I tried it but it DOESN'T WORK FOR ME (nor rangerwillx/grimranger)... it just pops up steam:985723817490128347128903470123984712390487123904729038471902347890 on account name
and then says "this account has been converted to Steam. Select Use Steam Account to log on."

........... not cool
I tried tweaking the game, but then I realized it was downloaded with 32bit java for some reason. put in jre6 64bit for windows, and it couldn't even start up. (same for linux java 64 bit) "unkown error click this link blah" I click the link and it shows no sheez at all.

I need help on how to REDUCE LAG or PLAY WITHOUT STEAM ;-;
lockdown and this GAME in general is completely unplayable.

If it's playable but very

If it's playable but very laggy, then you'll need to do some optimisation. (Or get a better computer lol)

1. Your Linux OS is most likely 32-bit so it can't run anything 64-bit
2. You should give your computer specs
3. You can minimize the memory steam takes up by disabling "steam community in-game" along with some other setting

From what I've seen here, that method doesn't work if you convert your account to steam, only if you started it as a steam account.

I also set my computer to performance, and java to highest prio.
still getting constant ~13fps, ~7 in snowy maps.....
Redblades cries in a corner.. OH WAIT I'M TOO GODDANG LAGGY AND CHOPPY TO CRY.

most laptops (besides the high end ones) all have integrated graphic cards.
The REAL problem is that I can get 60fps on non-steam client
I can get 45+ fps on high quality on non-steam client, so it definitely isn't my computer's problem
my linux OS is most definitely 64 bit but I can't seem to but java6 64-bit in the steam spiral folder. it won't launch (I've tried native java folder and also native windows since it's running on wine).
also, SK on steam seems to be only using 1 core. I check the CPU usage, and the highest it will ever get is 100% instead of 200%..
anything to add on extra.txt to force it to use 2 cores?

You can't force an

You can't force an application to use more than one core unless it's written that way in the first place.

What I want to know is... why didn't OOO make the client multithreaded in this day and age?

Well...

Glad to know I didn't make a mistake when I chose not to link my account to Steam. :p
