the least used armor i have seen is the blazebreaker set 3* i have never seen it before...least used wep is a scissor blade i have never seen one of those actually used...
well thats it :) hope that it actually is somewhat true
btw heya tuddles and baldy sup my guildies ^^
What's the most rarely-used gear?
I have a couple of other friends who occasionally bring Iron Slug. Tohlevi is one of them, but I can't remember the other.
does anyone know what these are (just from pic)?
http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Cold_Iron_Vanquisher
http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Scissor_Blades (ok, cost wise this makes sense)
http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Cautery_Sword (to generic without being Calibur. point made.)
I have more friends with CIVs than Levis. (Not counting Honour Blade.) It actually seems fairly popular just for its looks.
For Cautery Sword, I only have a couple of friends with those. They're both deliberately being hipsters.
@Mtax yeah... I stole one from Eury, though we don't talk about the day of no monsters. XD
@Zeddy... really? never seen anyone use Cautery or Cold Iron. Huh.
I must say it, I MUST SAY IT...
DARKFANG SHIELD
WHY YOU NO TALKY?
Gun:
What else than Polaris? My lovely Polaris!!! <3
Sword:
Winmillion! (FUN!)
Combuster! (Best spammable weap!)
Wrench Wand! (Shiny!)
FoV (YAY charge!)
Bomb:
Venom Veiler (bubbles!)
DBB (Lag!)
niTROLLnome (Blue screen of DOOM)
...I did accidentally do a run in Blazebreak Armor once.
I was wondering why it wasn't showing up as my costume.
Also, why my damage was so pants.
e.e
I've seen all of the mentioned weapons in use, with the exception of Scissor Blades and Darkfang Shield - which is understandable, given the rarity of said items. And even then, I have seen both items equipped (although not at once); one of my former guildmates bought one of the first Scissor Blades, and I met Daniz a couple of times on shield-hunting runs.
'Tis to be that my unbiased opinion will include the weapon most sparsely used by complete cacafuegos who say buncombe that make up approximately one decitenth of the association based on a surprisingly pleasing immensely poly-sapien known as Spiral Knights. The object in question is most likely of origin in the rapid shot high caliber weaponry that are by no means long range, accurate assassination tools, but are simple sidearms to be applicated when one can smell the enemies' hircismus, and would wish to have some space to breathe, similar to the state of newly liberated hopeful civilians in a dawning country contemporaraneous to the first presidents of America *hint*, at the pre-Louisiana vendoring. The misnomer is called Volcanic Pepperbox. Actually, this can rapidly lead to the swift oxidation of those around you if handled ostentatiously. Not to be underestimated, Chaps.

a.k.a. dud te voldsn mushene thin is cul man.
@Scrillicks That last post made my eyes hurt.
@Hadesrebellion Are you being sarcastic or not? You've listed a combination of popular and hipster gear there.
I saw someone bring Scissor Blades on a Save Winterfest run. Before that I've only seen a GM with one.
I think my guild is full of hipsters, I've seen a lot of weapons mentioned used (one guy likes using Cautery Sword in LD)
I'm heating up a Volcanic Pepperbox, your point is invalid.
I just wish it wouldn't shove things around quite so much...
Also, 'weapons that get stuff out of your face' include the Calibur-line blades and their Honorable equivalents, as well as Fang of Vog. God I love that Fang, I thought I would get all pissy with its smaller hitbox and slow swings but it's actually pretty decent once you get used to it as long as you don't try using it like a Divine Avenger, which will get you killed since FoV's attack cancelling ability is absolute pants and can't seem to interrupt a slag even on its third stroke unless they're backed up against the wall, thanks to its stupid high knockback.
On the plus side nobody will mistake you for anything other than a hipstr with that sword, unless they think you're some kind of person who's been paying people to do Vanaduke runs with other people so they can get enough tokens for full 5* kit in which case they are also stupid because I don't use the AP series, and have no intention of doing so in the nearby future. Why would you use FoV without fire resistance? I have no idea.
I am now turning into boxes.
Actually, since I started Spiral Knights, I have yet to see one that uses the pepperbox/fiery/volcanic other than me. Hmm. I also am aiming for plague needle, Winmillion, and Fearless Rigadoon. Really, I am a collector of "least commonly used" equipment. Not sure why people shy away from them. My most commonly used sword is Levi asi medium, and that is the same caliber I got so about a year ago. My first 2 star sword, really. So I have grown used to strafing and charging enemies. Like ripping the face off of a slag on my buddy, or OHKOing a turret. I don't "charge spam", obnoxiously blasting lumbers into my party mates.
Wait. this is about Vpepper. Well, I use it pretty often, and the normal attack does just fine, since is interrupts scuttles, jellies, chromas, and sometimes gremlins. Then I retreat, charging. Then, I blast them in the face. Who needs more damage when you OHKO guys anyway? Vana. Really, I think that Vanaduke should be resistant and weak to none, 'cept of course in the last stage.
Vanaduke should be neutral to all kinds of attacks, so it does not punish those who go for the Acheron as badly, and realize that they have a stupid twig that looks like a Japanese sword. Really. This would also demote clones, and I think that blitz should deal about 25% less damage to Vanaduke. I suggest this because when soloing, Vanaduke has approximately 15638 health in stage one, 3754 health in stage two, and at least 18029 helalth in stage three. Blitz charges deal 4035 (good against) damage. That's a lot. 25% would bring it down to 3026. Not bad when compared with 2660 damage with plague.
Apart from myself, I could name at least four people in my friends list with a Pepperbox. I also get some "Damn, I want a Pepperbox!" from people I run with, so it's spreading. Then again, I do run a hipster guild.
Winmillion- seen it many times
Pottery gourd er.. I mean cautery sword: Neva!
Irontech destroyer- never
Royal jelly set- Over 9000 times
Iron Slug- seen it once
My guildmate edvardola uses a scarlet shield
I've never seen the Darkfang Shield [ http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Darkfang_Shield ], or even the Scarlet Shield [ http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Scarlet_Shield ] at that, even though I've been playing the game for around 130 hours now.
As for the weapons, I've rarely seen a Cautery Sword in use by other knights. I own a Cautery Sword, as that's the main weapon of choice I used against the Jelly King and the slime. (Until I got better equipment, at least.) I have seen a few Apprentices walking around with a Bolted Blade, though. I'm guessing they saw it on the Supply Depot and purchased it. It's a fairly decent blade for a 1-star weapon, and an excellent choice when it's paired with the Green Ward shield. Too bad it's overlooked so much...
As for the guns... I haven't seen any knights with a good ol'e Pepperbox yet, only Autoguns or Needle Shots. And armor? Hmm... I haven't seen the Ironmight Plate Mail yet, only the shield.
THE PEPPERBOX (I've never used it) IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The only one i havent seen used is a wrench wand
@Scrilliks: Come on, join the Plague Party. You know you want to.
Also, is that 2.6k with or without taking strong poison into account?
I have a Flamberge too, but it only really gets used for LD purposes because I thought 'sod having Swift Flourish and Twisted Snarble Barb, I wanna be hisptr in t2'.
I don't think the darkfang should count, because of it's exclusivity. Also surprised that darkfang has been mentioned, but not the true love locket.
Edit: removed my arsenal of hipster things because Fehzor made me feel stupid. He does have every weapon in the game, I suppose.
One time, I ran through T1 with some people, then brought them to T2 and armed them with wrench wands. It was awesome.
More than half the gear that people don't use is more than viable and is simply unpopular due to the nature of players wanting to make "safe crafts" and thinking that a certain line of gear is the "good" line of gear. Plague needle is not one such item- sometimes I use it just for kicks, but blitz is better than it in every conceivable way. Unless you bring it with blitz, but then thats just for kicks and to show off for fun. It really needs a buff to it's normal attack (to have more bullets and less damage, for more poisoning)
Pepperbox is a genuinely fun item that people don't understand and don't use. And I don't get why, other than that it seems underwhelming (even if it isn't so much.)
The garbage 3*/winmillion gear makes little sense to me. Heavy deconstructor is slightly better than that crowd, but not by much if at all. I've heard all kinds of theories about them, and even more on how to improve them.
Iron slug is also in need of a huge buff, as is callahan. I use a magma driver for devilites, and sentenza for beasts when gunning them. There are callahan fans, but I am not one of them. I do use the iron slug quite often though, just for the sake of killing things with an expensive yet crappy weapon. And I cancel turrets. Fun.
Flamberg is disappointing. Same with rigadoon. I suggested to buff it, but people like the idea of having 2 useless weapons for some reason. I don't get it.
And I've tottaly got the above poster beat on hipster gear lol. I've got a full plate set, one piece of chaos (which isn't hipster), scarlet shield, royal jelly shield, ironmight plate shield, the elemental defense hat owlite thing and then some. And weapons. I've got a few (all of) the ones that he mentioned and a few more after that.
I got my cousin a spur and he likes it for its reasonable damage and extremely fast speed.
Winmillion is not garbage. The charge looks cool as well.
If Darkfang was commonly available, it'd be a hipster shield for being dead-end at 4*.
You know, I seem to have almost all of the items shown here, With a Few exceptions based on how I play.
Rarest gear? I'd say Suda, But I feel like I hype it up whenever I show up...
So Iron slug. Which happens to be my sidearm to my suda. Only once Have I seen in show up, and that's in LD, and the fellow ragequit.
Freaking... why doesn't OOO fix the suda?
