Should it allow you to use remedy when you are asleep?
It's become more than annoy after the patch, now that you don't get woken up after taken a hit and don't heal up fast and everything.

There is no sleep defense as far as I can see.
Also it's more of a hazard if you make a wake up gimmick..... it'll probably gonna be like the whole revs thing.
ed: I think sleep is bugged..... it always puts me under for 12 second or more regardless if I have weakness to it or not.
it would be nice to have all the blue pills to have AoE, so you can use it to cure allies, and maybe more than one at a time, probably adding a new command added to the numbers: get closer.
For red pills, i would find interesting if it had 2 kinds, one in the format of a red and white vial, that can be thrown in a player, and heal in area, and the actual one. These new vials would not be obsolete to players soloing, though, as you would be able to use it in yourself...you would only need a wall.
Wait, getting hit doesn't wake you up anymore? I thought that was the whole point of a sleep effect, that the target is neutralized for a longer than normal period of time unless you attack it.
It's kind of funny, sleep can actually be helpful, especially post-Emberlight when health is at a premium. Like on Shrine of Slumber levels, if you run into the sleep clouds after everything is dead, it can be used to restore a large bit of health without picking up hearts or using health capsules. Also, if you accidently get put to sleep it pays to play with a good party who will keep the enemies off you.
Indeed: last night, getting hit once did not wake me up. Considering that the effect duration is 12-15 seconds (pretty long), that was especially awkward.
Actually, sometimes you can wake up after being hit. An Ironwood Sentinel bashed my head and threw me across the room, waking my knight up while I was playing last night, so...
But when getting hit by Slooms, no, I don't wake up at all. Maybe it depends on the monster?
Sleep is the most annoying condition, if you ask me (and I'm sure a lot of people feel this way to). It usually lasts 15 seconds (sleep cloud), which is long enough to smash down 2 full HP bars. Not to mention I rarely wake up from sleep upon getting hit by a monster, and consequently end up dieing almost every time. I think sleep-resist armor would be a nice option. The only thing is, it would have to be totally resistant (100%), otherwise it might not be nearly as useful (let alone worth it). Has anyone ever tried their shield under a sleep cloud? It knocks against your shield twice a second basically. In otherwords, even 95% sleep defense wouldn't last long (a few seconds at best?). It would still be nice for taking Sloom hits, but you can do that with a shield anyways. You can't really run through those nasty sleep clouds with a shield.
As for using a remedy (on topic), I would like it if it did, but honestly, it wouldn't really make sense. I really like the idea of a team mate being able to smack you out of it, though. Maybe some throw-able cure pots that break on contact with any team mate?
@Shango: I never realized Sleep restored HP. Does it seriously? Just by walking into a Sleep cloud? o_o
It does! One pip per second. Assuming you sleep for 15 seconds, that's 15 pips.
Sleeping doesn't heal you from the first second. But after 3 seconds or so, yeah it starts to heal you for about 1 pip/sec indeed. :) See the "annoying" status has its perks. ;) Personally I don't mind sleep much. You basically just avoid the clouds. It's not hard to do and the clouds pay off after battle (or with good teammates as already pointed out earlier).
PS haha funny auto-subject :P
@Talbain (Sleep defense trinkets or other armors would be nice, too. (Are there already some?))
Someone in my guild just picked up a trinket with sleep protection today.
Oh believe me sleep is pretty bad when you're fighting a couple of axe trees, 10 mini sleepers, and 2 giant sleepers all in a relatively small enclosed area (Torporal Titan) all on your own (solo). :P In this case sleep = helpless death. Usually the ideal thing to do is kill of the giant sleepers before everything else, so that you don't accidentally get caught in the cloud and die from everything else smashing you around helplessly. In otherwords, the sleeping heal effect is completely useless in this scenario, because if you want to use it you will simply fall asleep and just lose even more hearts than you originally had. This is probably why I was unaware of the sleeping heal effect, as every time I fall asleep my hearts go down - very fast.
Does sleep still heal your health?
Shrine of slumber has been putting me to sleep from slimes, and even with no monster other than the sleeping slime, I don't heal, and I take damage from the next monster attack (the slimes seem to alternate between sleep you and hurt you)
The problem with sleep's heal effect is that it's not reliable. If you're asleep in the midst of battle an enemy will hit you before you have a chance to get any substantial heal benefit from it (especially considering the fact that enemies do more damage now). The only time you actually get a noticeable heal benefit from sleep is after you beat an encounter and there's still a sleep cloud lingering for a couple seconds that you run into for the sole purpose of healing yourself.
I think sleep needs to be revised. In it's current state (if being hit by a normal monster doesn't unsleep you) it is too overpowered of an ability against the player.
Edit: And I don't know if it still heals or not after the most recent update, I just know that it at the least healed before it. Haven't played too much the past couple days.
Sleep only starts to heal after 4 or so seconds into the effect..... it's not gonna help much though.
In another note it can take up to 4 hits before it finally woke me up, needless to say that warranted my death.
Seems like only the heavy mobs can "wake" someone with one hit now.
Perhaps the Ironwood just wakes you up because the sleep status is replaced by stun? If that's the case then sleep-waking up can still be bugged, but the bug can be bugged because of that? :P
sleep status is replaced by stun?
You can have more than one status inflicted at a time.
Can you with sleep? I don't know how it's all programmed so I can't tell for sure. But I do know that biggies like Ironwood offer you a fancy stun status when they hit you, and since people were saying only big ones like Ironwoods can knock you out of it? Just making an assumption there.
Could be the knockback, or the amount of damage, too.
A Sloom physically attacked me (BODY SLAM!) and I woke up! It's not guaranteed that you'll awaken, though ^^;
I don't think you should be able to self-medicate if you're too busy dreaming about football practice, no.
However, team-mates should be able to wake their companions somehow (shield bashing? AoE remedy effect?).
Sleep defense trinkets or other armors would be nice, too. (Are there already some?)
