If I take a lot of my guilds materials from the treasury, will they be able to ban me for it? Because I took 100 blue shards to sell, and they told me they are going to ban me for it.
Guild Treasury
lol.
As a general rule of thumb, taking everything you can get your hands on and SELLING IT is a great way to get kicked from a Guild.
~Sev
Some men just want to watch the world burn
how would you feel if somebody broke into your house, stole your pc and sold it? just because they could????
seriously what kind of question is this? but then again people spam guild invites like crazy so they could even have brought this on themselves...
this is why i don't want to be in a guild anymore (old one got disbanded when i took my last brake)
General Rule of Life
If you take a lot of something, someone's gonna notice.
And if you take a lot of something that is not supposedly free, someone's gonna get angry.
They told me the Mist well was all mine, and no one else can take form it, then I deposited 500 energy, and they all stole it. And anyway, it doesnt matter. They didnt have any rule on it, and OOO doesnt ban it from happening either?
@Kickthebucket This is a game, not real life.
No guild should ever allow a player to "own" an object, room, or anything else in a guildhall, it only leads to drama and kicks. It may work in a small guild where the players are friends and mature, but the majority of guilds do not fit that description.
I have two guilds. My favorite one is where I'm the only person in it. Though I beg myself for my own room there, so I get on my nerves a lot.
Er... O.o
"This is a game, not real life."
And you are an disillusioned kid. Refer to my previous meme.
"They told me the Mist well was all mine, and no one else can take form it, then I deposited 500 energy, and they all stole it. And anyway, it doesnt matter. They didnt have any rule on it, and OOO doesnt ban it from happening either?"
Which is why we have doors now... and EXCUSE ME!~ OOO does not handle the guilds, the guild masters should handle this...
"This is a game, not real life."
Even if it is a game, it is somewhat similar to life itself...
"Even if it is a game, it is somewhat similar to life itself..."
Indeed. Games will still or, should still, share some ethical boundaries real life has. Obviously killing players isn't one, considering that's what you're supposed to do.
But obviously you don't go around screaming that everyone's an idiot but you AND EXPECT PEOPLE TO BE OK WITH IT.
Likewise, you don't take stuff from their storage, aka STEAL IT, and EXPECT THEM TO BE OK WITH IT.
It wasnt stealing though. No one told me I cant, and it says that anyone can take from it.
Plus, it would be better to ask, since who knew they may now need it.
~Softhead, I deserve this name.
"It wasnt stealing though. No one told me I cant, and it says that anyone can take from it."
The bank didn't tell me specifically that I can't take money from it, and other people are getting money from it...
That must mean...
Ok seriously, stop trying to justify it. You're not supposed to do that. Period. You did that, so they got pissed. True story and completely justified of them. Quit whining.
You should get perma-game-banned.
And get flogged with flawed snowballs in the public town square.
You know, just because no one specifically says you can't do something doesn't mean you can do it.
No one will specifically tell you this on entrance, but a restaurant can kick you out and permanently forbid you from returning if you walk in and start throwing chairs and tables around.
"The bank didn't tell me specifically that I can't take money from it, and other people are getting money from it...
That must mean..."
There is something called a law you know.
"No one will specifically tell you this on entrance, but a restaurant can kick you out and permanently forbid you from returning if you walk in and start throwing chairs and tables around."
Well, OOO says, that Whatever you put in there may be taken by anyone. So they do have to specify, since there is a rule about it.
"Plus, it would be better to ask, since who knew they may now need it"
Well, I see people taking loads of stuff, like 3 horse shoes, 2 shadowsteels, 20 blue shards, so I was like 'Whatever, ill take some stuff too.'
"100 is a BIT much, don't you agree?"
It is weird how guilds work, huh? I donate at least 1k everyday, sometimes 2, and I went broke. They kick you out if you dont donate. So I had a customer who would pay good for them, so I took and sold. They say they gonna ban me, even though I payed everything except 300 crowns off from what I got from the blue shards. I used that 200 to do LD, that is the only reason I kept it. I kept the last hundred cause I had about 400 crowns, just in case I lost.
"Well, I see people taking loads of stuff, like 3 horse shoes, 2 shadowsteels, 20 blue shards, so I was like 'Whatever, ill take some stuff too.'"
I saw people breaking and entering other people's houses, so I decided to go as well.
"There is something called a law you know."
There's also something called ethics and 'The guild ownz this stuff'.
Seriously, lost count of the number of people who've joined a guild, stripped the Storages bare, then left.
Now I wonder why they di-AH! They probably thought they were ALLOWED TO DO THAT, EH?
Seriously, stop trying to justify it.
EDIT: The fact that you paid some back is redeemable, but still the fact remains that you took it without asking. That alone is kick-material enough.
"I saw people breaking and entering other people's houses, so I decided to go as well."
The guild had no problems with them, did they?
"The guild had no problems with them, did they?"
Are you really so thick?
"Are you really so thick?"
Are you really so thick? Look, I am giving you the facts. I am stubborn, and I think I am right. I got about 3k off them, gave the guild 2.7k, and took the rest for myself. IF I DIDNT PAY, THE UPKEEP WOULDNT HAVE BEEN ENOUGH!
Quoting from the Terms of Service, "Don't take what's not yours! - Stealing is defined as taking the in-game property of another knight without the knowledge and permission of that knight."
'Quoting from the Terms of Service, "Don't take what's not yours! - Stealing is defined as taking the in-game property of another knight without the knowledge and permission of that knight."'
But that is not stealing, eh? If OOO lets me take it, it is not stealing? They warn that whatever is placed can be took by anyone.
"Are you really so thick? Look, I am giving you the facts. I am stubborn, and I think I am right."
And WE are giving YOU the facts. You DID NOT OWN THEM. OOO says you CAN take what's in storage, but that does not mean you are ALLOWED. CAN = ABLE. CAN =/= ALLOWED.
YET, you TOOK THEM ANYWAY. No matter how, why, or what twisted logic you use, you had NO RIGHT to take them without asking.
You thought wrong. Period.
"You thought wrong. Period."
How do you know that I was wrong? I had the right to, didnt I? Maybe you are just saying that cause your pssed that I took, and that is your opinion. This is mine. I was just asking a question, and you started insulting.
"You DID NOT OWN THEM"
Then who owns them, tell me that?
"I had the right to, didnt I? Maybe you are just saying that cause your pssed that I took, and that is your opinion. This is mine."
No, you DIDN'T have the right. Weren't you listening? They ARE NOT YOURS. CAN = ABLE TO.
I CAN jump through a window of someone's house, doesn't mean I'm ALLOWED to.
I CAN go rob a bank because their security is shot to hell, and I heard someone say "With our security down, anyone can just waltz in and take what they want!"
I CAN go whine to my parents about how my favourite chocolate is now 20c more expensive, but that'd just be stupid.
CAN=/=ALLOWED. You really are thick if you can't understand that.
EDIT: "Then who owns them, tell me that?"
The GUILD obviously. And the people MANAGING the guild have the right to MANAGE who gets what when why and what FOR, because otherwise everyone will pull a 'The-Serpentine' and just yank everything out of storage.
"They ARE NOT YOURS. CAN = ABLE TO."
Then why were they in the treasury? Who own them?
YOU have the Rights? Says everybody else who took from our storages and mist wells.
Oh Oh how about me? I have the rights too... but I don't take any... because why?
BECAUSE
#1 I don't need them
#2 I don't own them
#3 Others need it
#4 Used as emergency supplies
It is not just because I have the rights, nor the guild says I can't take it, but I just don't need it. Do you need it? Seeing how you sell it, so nope.
"The GUILD obviously."
Then why dont they keep it to themselves? Why do they put them in treasury's for anyone to take it?
"Seeing how you sell it, so nope."
If you read my comment, I NEEDED IT TO PAY THE GUILD UPKEEP OR THEY WILL KICK ME OFF!
Yeah, totally, because the guild can just lock itself to prevent people from taking it.
They put it in the STORAGE to help players OF THAT RANK who NEED it. But they have to ASK first otherwise there'll be NOTHING to take, because people LIKE YOU would just up and take everything because they feel they have the RIGHT to.
"They put it in the STORAGE to help players OF THAT RANK who NEED it."
I NEEDED it to PAY the UPKEEP!
"If you read my comment, I NEEDED IT TO PAY THE GUILD UPKEEP OR THEY WILL KICK ME OFF!"
So pretty, much, you take stuff from them, convert it to cash, and pay off a debt.
1) Defeats the purpose.
2) Proves his point.
"So pretty, much, you take stuff from them, convert it to cash, and pay off a debt."
Yes, because if I didnt, the guild wouldnt be able to do anything.
"Look Ma, I took these necklaces you don't wear anymore and sold them so we can pay rent!"
I don't even need to explain what I mean.
"Look Ma, I took these necklaces you don't wear anymore and sold them so we can pay rent!"
" And if I didnt do that, we would be on the streets, Ma!"
You don't just sell other peoples things without asking first. How would you like it if I took your things and sold them, and then after selling it, letting you know that I did it.
What you did wasn't good, you should have asked first and notified people that you needed it to pay the upkeep.
You can keep arguing that what you did was ok. Go ahead, I don't mind. It doesn't make it justified.
This is one of those situations where someone can read "Thou shalt not lie", and say "Weeellll if I hadn't then variable this variable that...". Did it say thou shalt not lie unless it benefits you?
lol. Anyway - people take stuff from our storage all the time. And sell it. The storage is there for people to use the mats to craft stuff.
If you sold the Blue Shards for 3,000 crowns...I repeat, 3,000 crowns, that you wouldn't have been able to pay the debt without...you could just ask everyone in the guild to donate 100 crowns. I mean really, 3K Crowns that made all the difference? C'mon.
~Sev
"Look Ma, I took these necklaces you don't wear anymore and sold them so we can pay rent!"
" And if I didnt do that, we would be on the streets, Ma!"
"Those were an hierloom from my great-great-Grandmother!"
Baka, the fact remains that you don't have the right to decide what needs to be done to manage the guild you're a member of, especially if it involves taking things that aren't yours. You leave THAT to the people IN CHARGE, or just leave if you're not satisfied.
No matter what, that doesn't make you right.
This is why I don't touch the storage at all, it keeps me safe from drama like this. In our guild people put materials in there to help others out who mgiht be short a mat or two when crafting something. If someone takes a lot of materials without telling anyone why or 'cause they wanted to make money' we all collectively report them and kick them out, if they can't come up with a ligitemate excuse. Hopefully gets them banned so other guilds don't ahve to deal with their idiocy.
"If you read my comment, I NEEDED IT TO PAY THE GUILD UPKEEP OR THEY WILL KICK ME OFF!"
Oh? Your guild forced you to pay for the upkeep? What a terrible guild, no guilds should do that.
But even so, it doesn't mean you should take someone's stuff, sells it so you can pay the upkeep.
For a couple of reasons you shouldn't have sold that 100 shards
#1 Worthless... You can earn so much more doing a run
#2 There are other ways to earn crowns
#3 How hard is it to get 100 shards? Much harder than getting your upkeep paid that is.
Cmon Guys dont even try so hard to make this guy change his opinion, he really dont have ethics or a mind to respect other people stuff. he is just the kind of people we must watch in our guild so they cant Do the same things he did. he really dont care about what he will do or what he will going to get, as long he get some kind of benefit for it.
Seriously he is not going to change he dont have ethic or shame, he dont even know what its that, he just do whatever he want like a wild beast. just by instict.
Its like talk to a wall. pretty useless.
They can ban you for whatever reason they want.
100 Blue shards is quite a lot to be honest. If I had to guess, they needed that to make the Roarmulus Statue. The Blueprints require 100 Blue Shards each, while the full sized one requires a massive total of 1600 Blue Shards total.
*EDIT* And by Ban I mean kicked from the guild. They can't ban you from the game, but they can definitely kick you from the guild for doing something like that.
