How to fix the empty arcade problem

So, I was in the arcade yesterday, and it was rather empty. I've also seen some sad person from some popular guild whose name I keep forgetting, and we though about ways to fill the arcade again.

  • Remove the Arcade interface from the missions tab. This will make people go to the actual Arcade.
  • Nerf cr output from boss missions, or buff the cr output from starting the boss strata from the legitimate Arcade.
  • If people start the boss run at the legitimate Arcade (starting at the beginning of the tier), give them the infamous 5th token

T3 arcade costs 500cr. The first stratum gives mediocre payout, you spend twice the energy -and time- to do 1 run.
The difference is pretty big to be fixed with small nerfs/buff.

The idea I like the most is that boss missions should send you to the appropiate arcade gate raher than being a direct shortcut.

I think OOO should remove the 500 and 200 crown fee for the arcade.

Have a very rare chance to encounter an Elevator to the Shadow Lair version of the boss strata in place of the normal boss strata elevator when running the Arcade. Of course that would be without the Shadow Key requirement.

I think people would start running normal Arcade gates instead of insta-boss missions if presented with the chance of getting a free SL run. (At least some people would)

And when I say rare chance, I mean rare chance.

Removing that 200/500 Cr fee would help too.

I'm sure OOO could do this with an invisible rotation of the Basil Gates sporting alternate layouts with SLevators in place of regular boss elevators.

While we're at this, make that stranger (forget its name) sell those Vials/etc. in packs of 3 instead. Aside from the rare Vita pod and/or cap/pill purchase, no one really buys those vials/items. Most people don't anyways.

Basil is of lonely and sad that no one visits him anymore. Everyone just wants to hang out with HoH instead. Basil thinks that he should try to sell his wares at a ~10% discounted rate to try to bring back customers. Except Token recipes. those are exclusive to basil. They stay expensive.

Regarding the Random SLs in CWs:
OOO, you have nothing to lose. If people spend more energy running Arcade for SLs, it means that more people are now enjoying an under-appreciated part of your game. The usage of energy is always a good thing, especially when it is Crystal Energy. If people buy an elevator pass to run Arcades endlessly for SLs, you'll still win because they just bought an elevator pass. Just make SLs rare enough so that you're not just handing out SLs like Halloween Candy.

BN could also use some love at this point. It's lonely here with no one else to blow up...

According to my GMs/Officers, apparently they did some testing with KoA and FSC, and apparently FSC does in fact pay better than KoA.

I remember the old days of actually trying to make a gate what you wanted. I think the whole mineral thing is kinda.. eh. It doesn't effect things anymore. It's just a few spare crowns from minerals with nobody caring about the gates. Maybe the entire rebirth of the arcade might lie in giving the minerals another use. Something besides just crowns. There have been some pugs I've run where the people just ignore the crystals altogether.

Having the boss stratums give out more than the missions is nice, though I think there might be more room for improvement. People go into town for the AH, for the HoH, for the Bazaar. The only people that go to the arcade now are ones doing PvP tokens. Maybe a new branch of things based on those crystals might be just what we need to draw people back into the giant gear gate room.

I agree with Zeka et al.

It seems like the arcade is one of those things in-game that could be made more fun for players and profitable for 3 Rings. The whole picking a gate based on minerals is "What? Why would I do that?" as far as I'm concerned.

Yea, the fee should be removed. Because, if i don't buy any recipe to sell, and don't do boss i'll dont get any crown. I'll only lost it. Absurd.

The point is to make you do enough depths to earn it back, obviously.

Deeper you go, the more energy burned. And I highly doubt the levels are so barren that you can't earn back even 500cr in one stratum.
