How come literaly no one uses angelic lines anymore? They seem quite effective in numerous shadow lair runs (eg. Heavenly armour set used in UFSC = u r doin the normal FSC)
Im serious I want to see more peeps in angelic sets.

Because none of them is "the best" at anything.
For a starter, none of them have a blanket med per part, which is the standard of common armors. Arguably all of them, taken one by one, are not "bad", they are just outclassed.
As a swordsman :
- want shadow defense ? Get Snarby
- want fire resist ? Get Vog Cub
- want LD ? Get Skolver
- anything else ? Just take the non-normal protection needed and you'll be fine. Curse and poison are not dangerous enough to care, and a fiend bonus is laughable when you have a blanket DB : V.H from full Snarby and a toothpick
As a gunner :
- take Shadowsun armor to be able to reach DB:Max and the Seerus mask for its awesome stats. End of story (though you may take full Shadowsun for LD)
As a bomber :
- lol, no CTR on that armor ? Pass. Mix Volcanic/Mad Bomber everywhere.
As a hybrid :
- any combination of the above, with Chaos set eventually mixed in for it's awesome blanket CTR and DB bonus, if you are good enough to not care about status.
Really, there is no reason to consider any of Angelic part. In case you consider Fallen may be good for C42, nope, it's outclassed by Dragon Scale.
The Angelic parts all have some kind of status weakness to them. Whilst Fallen's curse weakness isn't too crippling, it comes with a -2 damage penalty versus fiends. Per piece. Heavenly Iron is weak to shock, one of the most dangerous statuses out there. As for Valkyrie, wear that in FSC and you're likely to end up burning to death.
They look nice, but compared to other armours that lack weaknesses, they are inferior. Not some of the worst armour out there, but certainly not the best.
I've used Fallen and Dragon Scale in C42, I prefer Fallen for its ASI and normal defense, the major weakness is spikes but they can be avoided/shielded easily enough.
I agree about them generally not being too hot though. I wouldn't use Heavenly Iron in UFSC, there are still some sources of fire there and fiend damage and that much curse resistance aren't that important.
@Flowchart oh, thanks for the feedback. Since I can't find the drake scale helm of my dreams, maybe I'll try a Crown of the Fallen instead. Though I don't really agree on spikes, oilers throw them a lot and they are sometimes hard to see.
Though yeah, that's a very specific use case, and very few players can actually afford doing a set just for one mission.
Most people see specialized armor as pointless, and don't go for it at all. Their loss. I love my deadshot, and want valkyrie... fallen armor is odd and kind of strange to use in situations, but can pay off as a hybrid armor. Did I mention that most players don't fully hybridize, and that those whom do are mostly chaos users?
and that those whom do are mostly chaos users?
That's what it comes down to; Chaos is just the best set for hybrid builds, and the wolver/demo/gun sets are typically best for their respective weapons. The rest of the line just is pretty average, mundane, unspecial, boring, normal, yawny. Defence is really pretty secondary in the game; resistances knock mere 1~2 seconds off of otherwise long status effects, high defences knock fractions of damage off of hits; they simply don't pay off as well as offensive bonuses which noticeable knock down your killtimes/swingcounts and other relevant factors in play. (although that's less to do with "bonuses>defence" and more to do with them giving you such high bonuses compared to such measly increases in defence: you're trading four oranges for an apple, essentially.)
Fallen is good, but 100% requires hybridisation to be worth it and only pays off a paltry med:asi to guns/swords, which can easily be replicated and replaced with a 3* swifty (instead of two 5* armour parts), so is utterly unworth it compared to the Chaos which gives dmg:med AND ctr:med to all three weapons. Toss a swifty onto that and you've made Fallen utterly redundant while saying goodbye to that annoying fiend:-vh debuff that makes killing trojans less fun than just walking into firetiles.
I use Heavenly Iron all the time in Fiend stratas, unless there are shock fiends. Beyond that, I never use it.
Like previous posts say, they are good, but they aren't the best at anything.
Personally seeing as almost nothing presents a challenged IG anymore, I would rather get those lesser used sets, if only to stand out from the wolver-hide masses.
Everyone knows Chaos set's the best!
