I thought that the Voltech alchemer's firing sounds were pretty weak sounding in comparison to the cryo and prisma/shadow lines. So I went ahead and beefed up the sound to make it more manly, and thought I'd share it with everybody too.

To install this mod, download the sound files from the links below and place them into the folder where SK is installed.

Should be something like C:\Progam Files\Three Rings Design\Spiral Knights\rsrc\sound\effect\weapon. I recommend you make a backup version of the old sounds in case you want to change it back to the original.

I think this violates the ToS a bit. Although I do hope that the staff don't mind as it's only sound changing...

I'd have to hear it in a real fight before I can decide whether or not I like it. The advantage of the current sound is that it's subtle; this is a good thing when you have 4 of them being fired together.

^Thats the reason I made this, its too subtle! You can test it for yourself by installing it to the folder like I've said, and switch back if you're not a fan of it.

I was aiming to make the voltech sound and hence "feel" more powerful. You gotta admit that the cryo driver's sound effect is good to the point that it makes you seem like you're doing more damage than you really are.

@Hex I believe I'm safe, this is only a superficial mod so theres no harm being done at all here. I've also seen another sound mod posted on the forums but that thread was from last year.

I've uploaded a newer charge

I've uploaded a newer charge attack sound with more crackling involved, it sounds alot more refined now. The demonstration video now also includes multiple users attacking with a voltech at the same time now. (Special thanks to Khoiboi and Voltimate for helping)
