It's definitely possible on Tier 3. The first time I did Winterfest, I did it solo, because my friends weren't on. I didn't get many tokens, though. And I haven't done it since the grinchlin stalker update.

Solo?
It's not hard, you just won't get as many tokens. One thing to keep in mind is that enemies' health scale when there are more people in the party, hence why they're a pain to kill in big parties and you might find yourself facing a mob of them as you run through. Solo they fall easily, and you'll find that surviving is much easier so long as you're always on the move so that the devilites will have a harder time hitting you. The downside to this is that you won't get as many tokens, so while it is easier to go solo it is still recommended that you go with as many players as you can to get the highest output.

It's not hard at all...
First time I did it, I was essentially going for a casual stroll and got 16 on my own. Not to mention I've now killed... ~150 Humbugs alone and/or with one other person (Counting their deaths makes me stay sane >:D ).

Its not so hard, Ive done it myself (Just got 10 tokens, but I did it!)
Of course it is! Anything is possible! The only difference in Tiers are the damage everything deals otherwise it's exactly the same. (aside from the Gricnhlin Stalkers)
However, there isn't a Youtube video of it... it is indeed possible. I've done it quite a few times to get the "rare"-common hat.
