account recovery question
Well admins could track the character, but if you cant at least remember the email, you have no proof the account is yours.
How can we thrust you're telling the truth or trying to steal someone else. Sorry.
If you've made a purchase on the account, we may be able to recover it for you. Please contact us via https://www.spiralknights.com/support/#mail with the account details you remember (not passwords, we can't use those and you should never ever give them to anyone!) as well as the method of payment you used (paypal e-mail, last six digits and billing address of credit card, etc.). Thanks!
...
I'll assume that they use the payment details to verify the user etc and this isn't just a case of 'because you spent $ on us'?
Exactly. If we are to connect real-world-person to fictional-character, we need the information that's common to both.
"real-world-person to fictional-character"
/gasp Could it be? DIGIMANS!?!?
WHERE DID YOU HIDE TEH GATEZ!? >:(
Where is it! Where did you hide it! Tell me! Where is it! Tell me where you hid the gate, then, you have my permission to...idk, get stuck in the gears or something.
I assume a F2P player with the knight name, a list of possible emails, information regarding the last log on date, an approximate number od crowns on the account, a list of gear, a list of earned recipies, the password which you've noted as useless, information regarding rank, what recon modules the knight has, and a glaring wish to recover a lost account is out of luck. Or did I somehow get lucky with that list?
People other than the actual player may know the knight name; if the player knows the e-mail address, they'll be able to recover it themselves via the automatic password recovery system (also, lots of people who know the name of my knight also know my e-mail address!), an account thief if the account was stolen would know the current password and the list of stuff on the knight, as well as any missions completed, etc. The only thing we can absolutely, every time use to identify the owner of an account is the payment information. I'm not saying people shouldn't contact us anyway (we'd much rather people feel free to contact us at any time and wind up asking us for things we can't do, especially if the alternative is that people don't contact us about things we could have helped with), but if it's a free account, there's a very good chance we won't be able to confirm ownership, in which case we won't be able to divulge any information about it.
If you open up a support ticket they may be able to help, but you'll probably need to remember some details about the account. Also, holy lack of punctuation, Batman!
