Some kind of box you can tick in the Arsenal that will tell the game to focus ALL heat on that one specific piece of gear.
That way I can wear gear that isn't quite level 10 yet, and still focus on leveling up one piece of gear at a time.

That's a better idea than mine, I like it.
Or not.. If you dont wanna level a specific gear, dont use it.. as simple as that.
@MeSako, it is a simple as that currently. But this is the suggestion forum where we suggest ways to improve the game in ways that we think would benefit players. Thus the 1st 3 posts in the thread.
Good ideas guys.
Well my Level 2 ***** gear is much better than my 10 star proto gear for leveling, MeSako.
I'd like to see this implemented too.
It's better for the entire group if you don't have T3 players wearing 2* pieces in your team because they're trying to level some other piece of gear fast.
I recommend flipping it around: rather than allowing multiple locked items, allow multiple priority items. The difference comes when the gear hits level 10: if there are no level-able priority items, of course it's going to start leveling the other ones. It's less intuitive for "locked" gear to suddenly unlock and gain heat, and if it's not automatic it leads to situations where people waste heat because they forgot to manually unlock their gear. It does exclude the case SirNiko mentioned where you deliberately keep an item low-level for testing, but I think avoiding unfun accidental waste heat is much more important.
Priority items are also a much closer conceptual fit: It's not that I don't want to level my shield; I just want to level my sword and gun first.
How about each piece of gear has a toggle to turn off heat gain? Then you can mix and match what gains levels as you please.
It would also be helpful for spading purposes so you can get a big sample with a low level item before turning back on heat to test with the next level.
