I was wondering when you are going to make a 4* item and your 3* item is higher than level 5 will it still allow you to use the 3* item or do you need a new 3* item?
For example i have a Chroma Suit lvl 6 can i still use it to craft a Salamander Suit?

Anything ABOVE level 5 can be used to up from 3* to 4*.
All of my 3* gear was level 10 when i upped it to 4*.
I don't think it has any benefits, but there are no drawbacks either.
