1. Are devilites healed by the runes on the ground or do asleep enemies heal?
2. Are boxes able to drop materials? (I'm pretty sure they can but realized I have no idea why I think that.)
3. Is there a minimum value for vitapods at a given depth?

...But...merely being asleep in Pokemon doesn't heal you...
I thought so...
Sorry, I meant how much the vitapods that could drop increase your health by. So like a +12 vitapod or a +5 vitapod. I've very often gotten to basil with not a single vitapod dropping. My current record is 12 vitapods dropping in a single level.
Zaffy-Laffy is right. To expand on the third point: I doubt that I have ever seen a +3 Vitapod drop at depth 24. There, the vitapods tend to be +12 or +15. So I think that there is a minimum vitapod value for each depth (or stratum or tier). But I don't know what it is.
In any event, I see no reason why you should be filing bug reports about any of this.
1. There were four devilites. All four them I believe were asleep, given that they didn't move attack or do anything at all. I killed one, hit another then my auto targeting flipped out and caused me to attack a different one. The one I had hit first started to heal, none of the others did. Nor did any of them wake up even after being smacked around by me.
2. I found a fine fabric in a box and couldn't remember if that was suppose to happen or not.
3. I found a +3 vitapod at in end of tier two. After finding a bunch of +12 vitapods. Seemed strange. Really so considering during my tier two run I found a few tier one vials, but only I believe on the first stage of tier two. My current theory is that vials/vitapods have a set value (like vitapods at this depth drop as +6s or whatever) but ones from the level previous and the next level can also drop. Has anyone else noticed this?
1. Your experience seems entirely consistent with the rules of sleep, which you can learn about at the wiki article..."Sleep".
2. I'll reiterate that materials can drop from boxes. See the wiki article "Treasure box".
3. I agree that finding a +3 after a bunch of +12s is strange. Are you sure that it wasn't dropped by someone in your party, when they upgraded to a better vitapod?
I just did. That's not how it was working. Only one healed, despite there being more then one injured. I did an attack that would cause flinching but they didn't wake up. They didn't slowly regenerate health either. It took a few seconds after I hit him for him to start healing at all and then he healed 100 hp twice in a second before I hit him again and he stopped healing. I then kept hitting him until he died. I'm pretty sure that's not how it's suppose to work. Also there was no visible indication that they were asleep, but the wiki doesn't say anything about that so I guess there isn't suppose to be.
Seeing as I was alone...yes. I opened a treasure chest and a +3 dropped.
Edit: I wrote two seconds when I meant a second. Whoops. Also I'm not 100% sure on the times but I killed a devilite in the space between attacking the one that healed and then coming back to kill that one. He then healed while the previous healing number amount was still on the screen.
When monsters are asleep, they should give off ZZZZZZs to indicate so. I haven't tested their healing much at all, but I agree that your experience with healing sounds odd, and maybe buggy.
I'm still not sure if it could just be a lag issue though. And the video recording program I was using to try to record my plays so I can send actually useful bug reports and gather data about enemies didn't work. Apparently. I found that out when I was done and tried watching the recording to figure out what the heck happened there on a closer examination when I didn't have to worry about not dying. Ah well.
As for the vitapod dropping, the wiki states that vitapods are evenly divisible by the tier in which they are dropped. So...it should be impossible to get a +3 vitapod in tier two. If the wiki is right. Perhaps more research is needed...
I've gotten a +3 health at depth 17 (at the end of the rise or fall mission, I believe). I have a screenshot I took because of the sheer ridiculousness of it, I'd be glad to post it.
As for the sleep thing, I have no idea since I never pick up sleep vials. And you seem to have the drop question answered pretty well.
What can I say... your vitapod was an isolated case. I still believe in the wiki and never saw such problem. Rare bug?
An isolated case. That two people had. You keep on using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means.
Actually I'd like to test the theory of mine I posted earlier about being able to get vials and vitapods from levels around the one you are currently on. I think I'm going to create a new topic in general asking people if they've ever gotten:
+2 at depth 7
+1 at depth 9
+3 vitapod at depth 17
+12 vitapod at depth 19
Also if they've gotten the tier one version of vials in tier two at depth 9. And the tier two version of vials at depth 19. I've never seen a tier two vial in depth 7 or a tier three vial at depth 17 but I might as well see if others have.
That is unless anyone knows anything about this. I searched around the wiki but I'm reeeeally bad at searching so I could have missed it. But the entry on vitapods says it's impossible and the one on pickups is...mute on this issue.
"An isolated case. That two people had."
Yes, it is. At the scale of an online game, 2 players or even 4 is an isolated case.
Anyway, Stratum 5 (depth 19 to 23) gives you +3 to +9 vitapods, generally. I'm not surprised that you get smaller vitapods somewhere unexpected. It just ... happens. Even if it's a bug that somehow creeped up, it's not consequent (compared to some gameplay-breaking bug I saw even yesterday).
The wiki may not be 100% accurate, as it's maintained by players. Especially, vitapods are not that much of an interesting area. They just happen to be there or not.
I have seen T1 vials (and pills) in T2 AND T3. (Mainly Stun)
+9 vita at D25 (not dropped by a party member)
Plenty of +2 vitas at D9
If your graphics are on Low, then "ZZZZ" does not turn up for sleep. It takes about 2 seconds after hit by a vial for an enemy to start healing, but in T2 this tends to be +25 per tick.
Does that help?
I have seen vials and pills for the previous tier drop in the first stratum of a tier. I have also seen +3 vitapods in stratum 5, which is quite common, even though it's possible to get +10 vitapods in stratum 4 beforehand. Don't know whether this is useful for you.
I think +2 vitapods are the normal vitapod at depth 9. Since it's the start of tier two and vitapods are (by and large) suppose to drop in multiples of the tier that they are in. I think the wiki is right about vitapods dropping in multiples of the tier that you are in since that by and large fits with what I've seen. I think vitapods drop roughly as so.
Take the tier you are in and then multiple it by the number of combat levels you are away from the "entry point." Those being Haven, Moorcraft, and Emberlight. Though since you don't find +16 on depth 17 there may be a coded in limit to how high of a vitapod you can find at a given level or it's not a straight forward multiplication. Maybe it changes after meeting Basil. I dunno. So depth 1 would drop 1 (tier) x 1 (level away from Haven) = +1 vitapods
Depth 6 would be: 1 x 4(since the basil level wouldn't count) = +4 vitapods.
Now there would also be a small chance for vitapods to drop from the level below and above the level you are currently on. So at depth 17 vitapods for depth 16 and depth 19 (since 18 is a town and would be skipped) can be dropped. That would explain why a +3 would drop at depth 17.
As for vials...I've got no idea.
@Raisinfist- That actually makes a lot of sense and largely fits with what I saw.
Don't count for stratums.
I believe every depth has a range of vitapods dropping, just that, the smaller vitapods and larger vitapods will have a smaller chance of dropping. However I don't really know because I saw 3 3+ vitapods dropping at Depth 19.
#1 Asleep enemies heal, just like in Pokemon :3 Snarby becomes Snorlax o.O
#2 Yesh, gears too. Gears are a mat for crafting the Clockworks.
#3 Vitapods are dropped by chance, if you are unlucky, there can be no vitapods at all, or 10 vitapods in 1 depth.
