Well during the winterfest the ce prices were quite down and now they are going up again. I think for the first time in the history of sk OOO was giving a gift to the players or normally they would make us broke to the point of death. So here is here are the reasons why made this thread:-

1: to thank OOO FOR BEING KIND OR THEY WOULD AS ALWAYS.
2: to tell them to reduce the prices again.
3: to get more things in the game.

I humbly thank OOO and please physcodestroyer don't comment anything bad about me.

Three Rings doesn't control

Three Rings doesn't control CE prices (at least not in the crowns market), the players do.

The reason prices went down was because of promos + crown sinks.

Everyone was doing the event mission which gave no crowns. Now everyone is going back to grinding crowns and contributing to inflation again.

What is the spending limit

What is the spending limit anyway? Is it really low, or are people just obsessed? lol

"please physcodestroyer don't comment anything bad about me."

I don't have to; you're making yourself look idiot-enough for posting a thread about rising ce prices when they haven't even breached 9k yet.

That, and spelling my name wrong.

I also find it funny how you blame me for making negative posts about you when really the threads you make deserve no better.

Seriously. I google searched your name to check what other threads you made. Even in hindsight I don't think I would've been any lighter.

This thread is no exception.

"to tell them to reduce the prices again."

Player controlled market Baka, how many times will people have to say it. OOO doesn't control the market directly.

"to get more things in the game."

/facepalm ...Are you just...dense, stupid, self-important or all three?

No really, I'm sure OOO was planning to leave the game exactly how it is, but since you asked they're probably going to add truckloads of new content next week

/sarcasm

Spending limit is $100/month unless it's raised: http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Billing_FAQ

But they can't do continuous promos to keep the ce price low since people can only spend so much a month.

why am i doing this...

Technically OOO does fix CE Prices to some extent. they contribute without contributing.
They made the prestige mission without a crown payout and the prices fell.
They sometimes give a 15% ce boost and prices dropped.
So they can rise and fall the price of CE with some simple manipulation.
and as long as were doing this...
OOO can get evil and change the price of CE for USD. They can charge a little bit higher, so 1000ce equals 10 dollars and the Crown Price for CE rises. or give a even more crown payout for FSC.

and as a consumer, i believe im controlling the market when really im being slightly influenced to drop the price down.

It's Something

If you don't like the price, then don't buy it. Sooner or later the seller will find some way to get consumers back.

Are you ♥♥♥♥ing serious? Who can afford to waste $100 a month on one single video game?! A free to play one at that!

CE prices went down because the buyers know there are surplus of CE in the system and therefore their expectation for CE prices go lower. Seller's expectation for time to sell go up and therefore they compensate by lowering the prices.

CE prices go up now because the demand for CE goes up (buyers are aware that surplus of CE will run dry). As a result, demands go up causes prices to go up. Seller's expectation for time to sell go down and therefore they can afford to increase the prices.

Just keep in mind the law of demand: demand and prices are directly proportional. Demands go up, prices go up. If there is breaking news that causes demands to go down and the news is credible. e.g. you can now pay for elevator with CR. Then CE prices will go down. This is how OOO "adjusts" CE market, by injecting news that influence CE demands.

/me has the money to waste, Larry.

I certainly could (and have) spend 100$ in a month on this game. Sure, I could grind for CE, but then I wouldnt have the chance for winterfest boxes, or the rose regalia, etc. I don't spend for the CE, Larry. I spend a: because supporting OOO is a good thing and b: because I want pretty hats. I have a job, and disposable income. My choice what to do with my money, yes?

OOO does not control the economy, they only created it, have absolute power over it and otherwise inadvertently or purposely alter it with every patch, so the players are the ones that set the prices. Of course.

I've got to say that my favorite part of the thread was when Psychodestroyer hated on the OP when the OP specifically asked him not to.

Well...

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if the price goes over again to 9000 and beyond (insert beatenuptodeathgibberishmaymay here).

The reason why the prices were down was because of 2 things:
- The usual holiday promotions.
- Everyone was too busy grinding winter wishes instead of farming crowns on FSC.

And as many times said before, OOO/SEGA does NOT control the economy on any sort of way. However, I would be happy if they could control at least the number of offers a player can place at once, just to avoid building walls of offers bigger than a Xbox and making impatient players putting a bid over it, since that inflates the prices even faster.
