I'm sorry for making so many topics, but nobody in my guild knows the answer and nobody responds to Zone chat.

Which is better and for what situation?

And I'm getting mixed messages from the Wiki. Does the Deadshot gear give bonuses to swords as well, or just guns? And is the bonus Medium or Low on the Deadshot and Silvermail? It says Low on Silvermail but Medium on Deadshot, and I'm not sure about the accuracy of that.

If they both have Medium damage bonus, I'll go with Radiant Silvermail for its greater defenses, but if Deadshot gives a medium bonus vs undead and Silvermail gives low, I'll go with Deadshot.

Looking at the Spiral Knights Wiki.
The Radiant SilverMail has a Low Bonus against the undead, While the Deadshot mantle Gives a medium bonus.
I Think i can see why your confused cause the deadshot mantle comes from a line of armor that affects Guns.
I dont have any experience in using any of the gunslinger armor but what i think is that you'll get the damage bonus using any weapon aslong is it has some kind of bonus towards a specific monster. Otherwise im pretty sure they woulda made it like "Damage Bonus Vs Undead : Guns" or something like that.
Hope that helps.

Silvermail is garbage in

Silvermail is garbage in every situation if the wiki's stat listing is correct. It appears to have no normal defense.

Uhm Hazel, you are such a hypocrite. People want to balance their stats unlike yourself. Watch how you will react when a huge batch of new monsters dealing piercing arrive.

1.) Learn what hypocrite means before using it.

2.) Every monster currently in the game deals a majority of normal damage, aside from Gun Puppies. My advice is relevant to the current status of the game and should only be taken as such. If you want to plan your gear around theoretical unconfirmed possibilities, go right ahead. "Balancing your stats" is stupid right now, and extremely inefficient.

If a huge batch of monsters dealing pure piercing damage show up, I'll be prepared, because I have Normal+Piercing defense set leveled to max simply because it was what I leveled before I knew the finer points of the game. But, I didn't build that piercing set because I was preparing for some piercing damage manhattan scenario, I built it because I didn't know any better.

Four things

1) The Wiki isn't always correct/up-to-date. Player experience is more accurate usually.
2) Stat bars LIE like a rug (although they are probably more accurate for armors)
3) Piercing damage from monsters is extremely uncommon
4) If you resort to an ad hominem attack, you've already lost.

So generally this means maxing elemental/normal or shadow/normal while keeping an eye on status ailments (fire/shock/freeze), depending on strata. Because gun puppies are such f**** bastards, more often than not it's elemental/normal- that's why Vog Cub is so popular.

Have to agree with Hazel on

Have to agree with Hazel on the Silvermail, no normal resistance makes it near useless. Almost every monster deals normal damage. The shadow resistance might be useful, but the piercing is almost useless unless you have a weird affinity for hugging spikes.
