If the materials placed into a guild treasury can't be taken out, why bother giving the option of doing so at all? Some of my guild members have accidentally put there mats into the guild treasury instead of storage, and now they're just sitting uselessly since they can't be used by anyone. :/

It might be the othe way around, everything was able to be deposited by default but they forgot to block materials.

Materials are allowed in the guild treasury since they are used to create statues with the Hunter Lodge.
My guess is that blocking specifics mats was too much of a trouble, and they just didn't bother. There was a few suggestions around that already.
Long story short : be careful next time, and warn your members of the difference (really, most of the problem is a communication problem).
