As the title says that the slight chance for swords, guns and bombs to do double the amount of damage as they do on a normal swing and for the one hit kill its pretty obvious.

Critical hit:
In this any weapon would have a slight chance to do double the amount of damage as the normally do.
Conditions:The monsters who could be dealt double damage either need to be neutral or weak towards the weapon you are using. This means if you have Blitz Needle there is a slight chance that it may deal double damage to Fiends,Beasts,Gremlins and Undead. This also applys to bosses who are either weal or neutral towards the weapon.

ONE HIT KILL:
As the title says that an instant kill but with an even slighter chance to achieve.
CONDITIONS:In order to achieve this the monster must be weak towards the weapon you are using(does not apply to normal damage weapons). And also doesn't apply to bosses.

I'd rather not have more unnecessary luck-based mechanics; UVs and boxes are bad enough already.

- Blitz shoots lots bullets per trigger pull. Is the bonus applied to one bullet or the whole burst?
- Same for Dark Retribution and sun shards.
- What if you hit multiple enemies? do they all get critical'ed?
- Is the bonus chosen right when you fire the gun/drop the bomb, or triggered upon impact?
- Antiguas shoot soo fast than even the slightiest chacne of 1 hit-kill is overpowered.
- Critical hits should do at most 40% extra damage. Double the power is the same as 1 hit kills :P Enemies arent that strong.
- 1hit kill in general can be considered overpowered.

You missed lots of details. Note that I do not like the idea anyways.

FATALITY would be excessive in various cases.

I already get OHKOs against turrets just with my Nova Driver charge. I don't need even more overkill...

Also, what Juances said about the Needle lines.

Now i knew you would ask that

Now i knew you would ask that but the more the shots per clip the lesser the chance to critical hit or one hit kill per bullet.
@Little-Juances The DR or sun shards will be like the rest whether the orbs from the DR hit an enemy multiple times.Well one hit kill is only for monsters that are weak towards the weapon you are using on them so they will be killed pretty soon this will just make it a little quicker.
And the reason i didn't give more detail is because i typed all this on my phone which is really hard.

No OHKO

But aside from that, this sounds ok. The only problem is that this will make the game even easier, which is generally a bad thing given that the game is already fairly easy.

Yay, backstabs from TF2.

Ideas to minimize the randomness:

Maybe... the critical hits/one hit kills only have a chance of happening if the enemies aren't prepared? Like, they just spawned and haven't moved yet, or are focusing on another knight? Still would have some randomness, of course.

Maybe... a new weapon/battle sprite with this effect, instead of adding it to everything? It could be low damage, so the main goal by using it is the one hit kills. Could work with that last idea too...

Maybe... a new line of cutter with ridiculously long combo of especially low-damage swings, ending in one swing with a critical hit/one hit kill? Seems kinda like something that "a bandit," "members of the stealthier branches of the Spiral Order," or "an assassin" might use.

That, and you might want some obvious glow, noise, or flash if it's not the end of the combo, so you can stop the combo there and don't keep swinging/shooting/placing bombs at nothing.

Duh, you dont need a "critical hit" mechanic for that. All weapons already do more damage on last hit of a combo.
Just tweak it a bit further.

Doesn't dmg tables have a imbetween thing?

Like between number 3-6.

So wouldn't it be like that, so it would be 6 as the critical hit.

Or like poison being Tarunda and Rakunda, couldn't there be a status that simpily increases the dmg ending value, but the highest has a chance of happening?

The damage tables show the damage that weapon does in a certain stratum. The first damage number shows the damage done in the first Depth of that Stratum i.e. Depth 5 of Stratum 2, and the last number shows the damage done on the last depth of that stratum i.e. depth 7 of Stratum 2.
The reason why the damage tables are not done by depth is because there are 28 Depths in total. Far too many columns for a damage table to contain.
