Morph puddle enemy

Now. I have no idea if this has been suggested before because i have no idea what to search.

The enemy will be from the slime family and look like a orange puddle with a single, red core. It will function kind of like lichen's, But more advanced.

They travel in packs and when they form together they make a bigger puddle. Now for the advanced bit: Depending on the number of puddles it has collected, it can turn into 3 different forms

(All forms are still orange)

5 puddles-Crawler: The crawler is a fast moving slime with several legs on it. it speeds towards players but has weak attacks.

7 puddles-Sniper: The sniper is a static turret which fires fast shoots (about Antigua speed) but is inaccurate (doesn't always fire directly at players) You'll be able to get the rough angle by a spike appearing on the sniper where it will shoot from.

10 puddles- Goliath The Goliath is a large humanoid like slime but a puddle for legs. it has mace like arms which it uses to inflict massive piercing damage. its slow. For its attack it dose a lumber like smash but dose two of them one after the other.

Now here's another catch. instead of directly damaging its forms. when you attack them a puddle disconnects from the form. So you have to attack the puddle after it falls off to kill it.

I also think this actually has the potential to be a boss (a giant Goliath with around 100 puddles in it). wich could make a fun and challenging fight.

Please tell me what you think.

Sounds challenging, but can

Sounds challenging, but can you clarify on the details, I don't know what your talkin about mate. all I see is a portable turrent that can only be killed if you attacks its "puddles" mate.

Ever played halo 3? If you haven't look for a video on mission 9 in game. You'll see these enemies which look like spiders but transform into other things. Now take this but they need a certain ammo of puddles (aka: The base) To make higher tier forms. when you attack them. they shrink and a puddle comes off again. Then, you have to kill that puddle before it can go back into another form.

Make sense now?

Needs a recolor to not look like a Lichen.

Interesting, but I'm not sure if I completely like it. Each form has a weakness which is about an exact copy of another monster you could fight against in the clockworks. I do like the idea of losing slimes when attacked, but if you happen to have something with rapid attacks, example; Antigua-line, Spur-line, Dark Matter Bomb-line, it's going to fall apart rapidly. Make it a fixed damage amount you have to deal on it, so a slime can fall off. In fact it would be a whole lot nicer as a boss idea. Make it so it can't die until all the slimes have been seperated. Then finish those off.

I'm 50/50 on this in terms of liking it.

It follows the same base logic as lichens only they transform into more complex monsters.

But...

Lichens also transform into more complex monsters.

I meant like "different" They only get bigger and grow spikes. Here it's a more radical change.

Slime?

This doesn't sound like a slime monster but rather a morphing organic weapon.
