the charge would be the actual long distance throw that travels in an arch at a set distance while the regular could be a single mele range attack. think of sango's weapon from inuyasha

After throwing the boomerang, would you be able to shield while waiting for it to return? You might have to adjust damage and speed based on whether or not you could do so.
Alternately, if the boomerang does not return it might serve as a piercing projectile for fighting large groups of foes.
I wonder if anyone here realized that there is also a boomerang in the legend of zelda series....
Admittedly, the oversized boomerang that Sango uses would make a good addition to this game.
The problem is that it would massively outclass Guns with its far better crowd control unless it was balanced like Bombs, requiring a charge time. That would mean it would either not have a standard attack, or would have a melee attack for a standard attack...
so why introduce a new weapon TYPE altogether? Just introduce a new melee weapon that has a charge attack that functions like a boomerang?
Generally I like this idea, but isn't it Winmillion that already works this way a bit?
Basically you suggest a weapon that is melee when doing regular attacks and makes range attack if charged. Am I right?

Boomerangish melee weapon. Make the special powerful, but dangerous. No more Calibur BS.

Please find a way to make your suggestion without referencing an anime. I'm not hating on anime, it's just that I'm just having a hard time taking your suggestion seriously at all.
