Greetings fellow knights.
I've thought about this for a bit, and someone's probably posted something similar to this already.

But here's the idea:

Enemy:Nitrogel
Family: Slime
Status: Freeze

Basically, this is a freeze-inflicting lichen formed from liquid nitrogen(if the knights even HAVE this stuff)
Like all other status lichens, they simply tackle you from a short distance away, with a chance of inflicting freeze on their target. Tier 3 Nitrogels gain the spike spin attack all status lichens have. In addition, Tier 3 Nitrogels constantly have a freeze aura around them
Tier1: Blue lichen with a sky blue core
Tier2: Sky blue with a navy core
Tier3: Sky blue with a navy core and several white spikes on it
And there's a bigger one too.

Enemy: Nitrolargo

The bigger brother of the Nitrogel.
Simply a Giant Lichen Colony with a Sky blue color, white spikes, and it constantly generates a freezing aura(similar to the Toxilargo)
Nitrolargos possess all attacks that Giant Lichen Colonies have in addition to their freeze mist, AND they can create Nitrogels with their spike roots
They would appear in a level similar to Briar Bone Barrage(the level with the Toxilargo)
Tier 3 exclusive of course

Both Nitrogels and Nitrolargos can freeze themselves if they take enough damage, And when they're frozen, they restore health.

I'm expecting a response saying that this is a terrible idea in a very short time.
I don't blame those people for hating stuff. Everyone hates something.

Actually ...

When I read the title I thought it was a fire slime, rather than a freeze one.

Regardless, it's always bothered me (for some reason) that the Lichen family had fire, shock, and poison variants, but the freeze variant went to the Jelly Cube family with the Ice Cube. So for that rather silly reason I'm entirely in favor of this, assuming we can find somewhere to put the Nitrolargo.

Just thought it would be a good idea to round out a sub-family

I might be able to think of a level of some sort for the Nitrolargo

(forgot to add the spike attack in T3)

But there are ice cubes and

But there are ice cubes and no poison cubes / shock cubes / arguably no fire cubes (those are more explosive than fire).

I'll probably work on

I'll probably work on rounding out the slimes later, So yeah i might be able to come up with an idea for those missing cubes

Only toxilargo has a mist. Only qucksilvers charge. Only oilers drop oil, burn and gain extra defense.
Nitrogels need an unqiue move.

When being attacked they have a chance of freezing into a solid, invulnerable cube?

Aww, I thought you were going to suggest exploding nitronome-slimes.

Anyways, Toxigels and Toxoils are the normal sized status lichens with the spin attack, and I think it should stay that way. Perhaps you could give the Nitrogel a passive freeze mist while giving the Nitrolargo a spike root attack that instead of spawning spikes would spawn Nitrogels? Right now they sound too similar to freeze Toxigels.

Could he be invincible and faster while not inflicted by fire?

that would cause too many problems

For instance, not being able to kill it if you don't have a fire weapon in your arsenal.

A wild Hydra appears

The concept of this enemy is amazing, and it'd be fun to watch people with low freeze resistance squirm!

Lapse of memory

I seem to have forgotten the fact that both of them would have a snowflake on their cores

I wouldn't mind seeing them drop some kind of fridged blue fire to be honest... I'd love to see a new ability for them as well, perhaps freezing and shooting blocks of ice? A ranged attack would be cool.
