I was looking through my inventory when i saw the proto gear and remembered the good days when me and my proto gear went down tier 1 slaying monsters, adventuring and looking like a knight! Now I just leave it there and do nothing with it -.-
Imaging what proto gear would look like if it was 5 star... that will be so cuuuull c: it's the armour we got to start off with so why not make it into a 5 star set, it's basically bound to us forever and cannot be sold or traded/unbind.

No, Proto armor won't be upgraded, and it shouldn't. It should stay as it is : Proto. You want Proto Coat for example ? If you have nostalgia, then just go wear your proto, go back to Tier 1, and the story ends. Ta Da !

Sometimes what I like to do
Sometimes what I like to do is do FSC runs in 0* gear (except weapons), with randomers.
Generally you can distinguish between those people who inspect you and then don't say anything to you, and those who go mad when they see you only have 5 hearts.
"Oh my god! Noob! Kick kick! He sucks!", ironically it's them who die after this. People need to understand it's not about the gear, it's about the person playing and his/her skill.

I had that happen yesterday but they didn't inspect me or they would have known I was really wearing Vog under that pronto gear. And they couldn't kick me because I was the party leader but they did do a lot of gripping about my noobishness. 2 of them did do a good job playing floor mat. :D
And just for the record, I've been playing one handed (no shield or keyboard action of any type) because I'm wearing a cast.

Crescent Helm: Cobalt Series (Compare to the Cobalt Helm)
Draped Armor: Dragon Scale Series (Compare to Drake Scale)
Round Helm: Angelic Series (Compare to Angelic Helm)
The classic armor: The fire, shock, and freeze 1-2(3?) star sets.

Sometimes, just for the fun of a challenge, I get in noobish gear then sit on tier 1 level 1 waiting for noobs to join. The goal, go as far down as possible while not letting them die and without having to revive myself. Sounds easy but remember, you keep having to give them 1/2 of your health and they tend to blow things up that you are standing next to. Sometimes I give them 2* items to help if we become friends and do it more than once.
Give it a try. Challenge yourself. Be nice to a noob.

My proto gear is ugly. It's colored green and white, which really don't go well together.
I wear my pronto gear as a costume everyday. It serves two purposes. First, it wards off beggars. Second, it helps to identify scum who prey on and scam noobs. I had one tonight. I opened my party rather than doing a solo run for the first time in months. Within seconds a #*&@ appeared demanding I tab him and insulting my noobishness. That's one who will never be befriended nor welcome in the guild.
