This isn't a trick. This is a legitimate giveaway, because for two years my best friend and I have been scouring the expanses if the internet to find the origin of THIS song:

Basically, my friend heard this song on a Transformice server and somehow got ahold of the .midi file. Ever since then we have been looking for the source of this song. Some speculation we've had is from a game (i.e. Chrono Trigger), some obscure Indie game (i.e. ROTMG although that is MOST CERTAINLY not it), or some movie or other-language... source. In my desperation, and since I have retired, I am now offering a 1000 CE bounty to whoever finds the origin of this song.

Conditions are as follows:
-The origin must really be the origin (i.e. unless it's been composed by someone and you have proof of said composition, then a "top ten countdowns" etc. youtube video does not count)
-You may use any means to find this as long as they are legal within the laws of your state/country
-You may search anywhere to obtain the origin of this song
-There is an extra 400 CE bounty for the person who refers the finder of this song to me, as long as both finder and referrer have acknowledged each other's position

Speaking of Song Origins, my brother and I once heard this song, then we could only remember sections of the chorus. It puzzled us for YEARS what the title was.

That awkward moment when we realized years later that the title was 'Remember the name'.

Definately not anything from Chrono trigger. I can say that for sure. With the something about Mana, you probably mean Children of Mana. it's made by Square Enix, just like Chrono trigger, so that explains why you thought of it.

@Toxic, thanks for the confirmation; I haven't listened to Children of Mana, but if anyone's willing to take the time to confirm or debunk this, here's my list of games to inspect

-Square Enix line (Final Fantasy VII-XIV)

Something makes me think it's a game, but don't take my word for it.

Doubt its Kid Ic. Assuming this is not a remix, the 3 Kid Icarus games are on NES, GB and 3DS. The former two couldn't produce audio of this quality, and the 3DS title is too recent. I'll ask around.

Hmm

As much as the song you posted sounds really nice, it doesn't seem like it fits, unless the song I have is a remix. For one thing the beats are off, and the high notes in my version seem different... thanks for the try though!

i have it the result on my phone (in an app), so its halfway. but as i have the free version i cant do much on it really, not even send the result via e-mail.

tried some sound identifications in the desktop but they are all bad, none found it. but at least your guesses about being from a game (and japanese one) were right. probly a RPG or such, and even more probly one that doesnt have an US version (or the resoult would give it instead of the japanese one i think).

problem is: i have found no links of it ANYWHERE, nor the album or the song, in japanese music websites or youtube. found it via trackID (mobile app)

seems like it was part of the soundtrack of a drama tv show

a guild mate told me about this, i usually dont see 1/2 of this forums sections, and i think ive never posted in this part of the forum.

i didnt do it alone, me and my fiancee are used to search songs with nothing but themselves.

she plays MMOs (including SK), likes good music, games, animes, mangas... even has a scanlator :P

IN SHEET MUSIC FORM!!!!! only one problem lol :P there's no title on the music... and NO composer name... its like this faded music sheets that my piano teacher left me when she died a few months ago. GOT IT!

It's by Eric E. Hache... well... this piano part I found out is an ARRANGEMENT by someone unknown... but the ORIGINAL is Eric E. Hache's song "Counting the Days". Now the arrangement is similar to the original but with a twist in it.
