I think it would be neat if there was a survival mode where enemies spawn infinitely, players could get rewards such as crowns and heat, spark tokens, hearts a pills and pods, mechs and maybe rare item drops once in a while, after a certain amount of waves, you could play with up to 3 friends, and because the enemy waves would be random, it would encourage players to create very original and versatile set ups, it would also encourage players to play, to beat friends scores, and help players unite and make friends, once each player dies, you lose and would get a varied rewards depending on how far you got, there would be no reviving, but their would be a lobby before you start, giving you the option to buy items.

i think this is a very interesting idea, which makes me think someone else probably came up with it already :P

would love to hear your thoughts, constructive criticism is welcome too.

+1. I have similar thought also.

Except that with the current 3 roles (swordie, gunner, bomber), I think most likely people would just stick with Shiver + Blitz. Thus it would limit the replay value of this mode.

It would be more interesting if players are forced to evacuate from one point to another and get swarmed in open areas. It would require some coordination of enmity. e.g. the team needs to split up so one group can go ahead and activate perimeter defense, while the other group creates a diversion and buy the first group some time.

People might not go with shiv blitz, cause the survival mode could have enemies spawn irregularly, like lumbers, zombies, and wolvers would spawn.
Also, great idea, 1+

Yes, that would be very

Yes, that would be very interesting, such as the floor getting slowly covered in shadow fire or other forces that send players to the next room, maybe there could be an element where players are split up in individual rooms, where teamwork is void and personal skill is survival, also maybe if the last player alive reaches the reward point, he/she can revive fallen players/player, the option to choose to revive only one player would make it more difficult to decide, there would be a revive timer, if you cannot come to a decision, then all dead players stay dead until the next reward point, it would start at a tier 1 level and move on until it is insanely difficult, so even if you have shivermisters and blitzers, there could be floating platforms with puppies, howlitzers or polyps, spawn points that are unrelated to the waves, and just throw out enemies to get in the way, groups of enemies together that were never encountered before together, all kinds of special damage and status effects, hmmm, this could really grow in to something fun :D.

I'd love this, especially if

I'd love this, especially if a void monster would pop up every once in a while. It'd mix things up (though the unknown passage sort of is already survival mode). I'm very much in support of this. I like survival type settings, so this would be perfect for me.

I think the Dev can get some good inspiration by playing L4D2. They divide the stage into discrete section. So you have to time when to move, when to defend, and when to make a stand. Same thing to the survival mode in SK. It needs to have discrete "phases" to make it interesting. If the whole thing is about finding certain corner and tortoise with Shiver and Blitz / Trollaris, it would defeat the purpose.
