The Course that every Dev must Take (made by Nick)

How to tell as little as possible and still make the players content.

-Say things in broad terms
-Talk about how awesome the content will be in the future
-Say "still in development" or "We are working on it"
-Have an excited tone
-Add a smidgen of a hint of what is to come, or pretend to tell everything but really leave most unanswered.
-"We are very excited about..."

Protip: Players are like animals. They only listen to the tone of your voice, not what you are actually saying. Also, remember that no matter what you say, the playerbase will be pissy in perhaps a day or two.

Soon the mixture of enthusiasm wrapped around a kernel of truth will stir the sheep and make them excited and enthusiastic as well.

Thats the secret behind any propaganda, salesman at an electronics store, or TV commercial ever.

Remember: NEVER let a bomb get any higher amount of damage than a fully-upgraded Brandish. Just trust me on this one.

Application

We are very excited to announce the we will be implementing the changes to the current mechanics some time soon. The changes will allow further incentives for particular aspects that affect how the the players go about their business so that eventually we're able to give EVERYONE full benefits of the update in the future. Mistakes will be/are being made as the project is still in development and we're working on broadening our sources to gain ample feedback about any glitches that may arrive when the update comes into full effect which should come once we have properly resourced the game for a more convenient, less redundant approach.

We're very excited about giving all our players the chance to participate in what we believe to be an integral part of the game and to see how it affects the players in achieving their objectives. Although it may be a significant change in the way the players managed their affairs, it does not take long to master it fully and players will be able to reap the benefits in no time. Thank you everyone for your patience!

NEVER admit mistakes. Ever. And never say "thank you for your patience". That allows the playerbase to believe they have something to complain about!

The rest is good though. B+

Don't forget to critcize

Don't forget to critcize other game developers about rehashing content and failing to let their franchises evolve whilst only recycling existing content for your own game and marketing it as "new".

A valid point about the recycled content, but where have you seen OOO criticize other game developers?
