Why do all of the good players have alts? What are they used for?
I tried having one with my good account, but i started lagging so badly, i had to wait another hour to wait until itt was good again.......

If your alts share the same mist energy stream as your main --- because they're on the same account, or because you haven't paid money to get multiple accounts with their own mist energy streams --- then there is little point.
If your alts have different mist energy streams, then they are basically free mist energy, that you can use as you like: mass-crafting, buying trinket/weapon slots, or just plain playing. I have an alt that I played until he was good enough to farm FSC. Then I farmed FSC with him.
If you can figure out how to run multiple copies of the game at the same time (for example on multiple computers), then you can also have your main drag your alt through the Clockworks, so that you earn crowns twice as fast as with your main alone. However, I am not certain that this is allowed under the Terms of Service (I don't do it myself).

Well...
I only use alts to trade crowns and CE, as well as reliving the moments of noobiness.
I have tried to farm JK with alts and main only, but let's say it didn't work out too well...

LOL, I imagine fighting JK with all the monsters with increased health from a large party plus only one player fighting wouldn't go well.
Besides that "ragecrafting" and buying weapon slots, I also use mine for all of my non-boss recipe 3*crafting. I hadn't thought of using an alt to tab my main, though I guess that only saves you 10 mist at the beginning of your run. I've found that doing Snarby and the Twins works pretty well though. Snarby gets some more weapons for your alt, and I've done the Twins with an alt with mostly 2* equipment (Calibur,Magic Hood+Cape, Prismatech Alchemer) and a 3* Horned Owlite Shield I accidentally crafted. The boss fight takes forever, but I don't have to invest CE into it--I might get it a 3* Brandish or Calibur to make it go faster though. And once I do the Twins enough, I can get the Quicksilver Helm and Mail, and gain 3* access, and it might be strong enough to join JK runs. :)
For the Twins and RJP, someone's main and someone else's alt (and the alt tabbing the main) might work well, especially for the Twins. If anyone is interested, we can switch back and forth using our mains and alts for some Twins runs. (My main is Hareth, alt is Halandin.)

Royal jelly is still easy with the usual FoV or DR.
It dies so fast your 3 alts could even be alive by the end of it. (I only manage to save 2, the angry spin makes it hard to avoid)

These costumes are a bit dated but mostly the same:
I have alts to make them sexy.
Example 1: Dress up your alts.
Example 2: Also, dress up your main characters.
Having alts has nothing to do with lag o_O
If you mean you were using 2 accounts at the same time, well some people have 2+ computers....
What you can do is:
-ragecraft
-save 100 ce for buying trinket/weapon slots
-get one-time only items again (crests for example)
-even if you lag you can just use it to tab the elevator then kick it
