What the vog did happen to the Recon Class in Lockdown ? WHAT HAPPENED ?!!! WHAAAAT !!!

Goes crazy for a while...

Takes a "Chill-out-Dude" pill and...

So for the people who didn't notice, the recon class is bugged in Lockdown.

How is that ?

When the recon uses his cloak, the animation of disappearing isn't displayed for enemies. Thus, making the Recon class not only OP, but like hacks. The enemy attacks you and disappear and you have no idea where to hit.

So, what do you want ?

I want to know if this was meant to happen ? Or just a merely bug that will be fixed ? And when are they going to fix it ?

When recons cloak, its like

When recons cloak, its like the chromas when they go chameloen on you. You can still see them, they aren't necessarily invisible.

Personally, if this is intentional what you speak of, then it's about time. I've never understood why the cloaking time was so long. You can still see them, just like the chromas. It only serves to tell you that they're going to turn invisble. I've always thought there shpuldn't have been a warning. But that's me, and I don't delve too deep into classes to know what's OP and what's not.

I have gotta see this

If recons have been buffed, then I agree - it's about time! I gotta try them out.

Darn, I thought you meant something like the cloak recharging to full health instantly or something when you said 'bugged'.

.

@Hollows :

I think you misunderstood what I said, or I did. Anyways, I meant that before, when the recon triggered the cloak, something like dust or sparkles will appear, just like Ninjas. When Ninjas disappear, the leave like sparkles, noting that they disappeared. And the sign you were talking about is different than what I mentioned in the OP. The sign you are talking about is when an enemy enters the radius of Recon. If the Recon gets too near, the enemy will get a death mark, which lessen his defense if I recall correctly.
.
.
And in my opinion, that's OP.

@Thinslayer :

I am pretty sure it is a bug unless someone confirms it as a buff. Seriously, it doesn't even look like a buff. Maybe increasing the duration of cloaking would be a buff. Or even reducing the cooldown or raising the recharging rate. But I won't agree on a buff like that.

@Aureate :

Sorry to pop out your balloon of dreams.

If it's OP, use it. I don't see how people can say 'recon is op' when Striker has been overpowered since heart pendants came in.
Though sadly this is probably just a glitch. If it is a buff, then as I said about time.
Come on. Is this really more overpowered then med ASI, med damage, and super-speed?
I think not.
inb4 I die from recon in LD and come delete this post

A lot of the imbalance comes

A lot of the imbalance comes from those heart pendants. Another mechanic I'd like to see is the ability for recons to see enemies on the minimap- recon is short for "reconnaissance", after all (admittedly, recon is my favorite class). Where strikers excel at reacting to changing battlefield conditions, recons should excel at reading changing battlefield conditions. And guardians could passively auto-heal (tier: 0.33/0.66/1 pip per second) when shield is at full strength, excelling at weathering changing battlefield conditions.

If the health imbalance issue is ever fixed, I would also advocate a slight nerf to Recon- perhaps making footprints slightly more visible. I've never been on the receiving end of a recon mugging, but I'd imagine it would get annoying for my opponents if I kept ambush-killing them from full health (which a recon can do to a no-pendant striker).

Sigh

I am not against a buff for the other classes, just not in that way.

@Juances :

Even the footsteps are removed. That's good, but the way of disappearing is not made well.

@Heavy-Dragon :

I am saying it is overpowered in this way, not because I am a striker. I know that Striker is OP and want a nerf for it, but that doesn't mean to buff Recon in this way. Sir, you got me wrong.

@Mohandar :

True. Health Pendants are the main factor that breaks the balance in LD. But I don't think removing it will be easy, same goes with other things people whine at : AT - Spammers etc...

@Canine-Vladmir :

(-_ \ )

I know that Recon's job is to disappear, duh. I meant that "Way of disappearing". I will try to record a video and upload it, but that takes a lot of time and I am lazy to do that....

When a recon disappear without any signs that he did, how are you going to know where to attack ? I am not saying to make him reveal himself, there are many ways you can buff the recon other than this. Increase the duration of the cloak, increase the speed of recharging. etc...

But on the other hand, Recon needs to be improved, there are footprints on places like Avenue and frostbite, they need to be buffed.

Recons aren't OP.

I don't think you've tried them the Recon class. Do it wrong and you are dead. Why? As soon as a cloaked recon is hit, he looses his WHOLE cloak time. They aren't really imbalanced until you get to heart trinkets. When they quickly cloak, the point is to make it so you can't hit them. The same way how Strikers speed away to keep from getting hit and how Guardians shield to keep from getting hit, er, injured. I don't see anything imbalanced but Double Penta-pendant Strikers, and even they can be dealt with.

(How? ....There's a secret method. ;)

Use a bomb. It'll keep you from being Recon-Assassinated.

Wait, you're a Striker? Strikers FEAR something that's not another Striker? I never knew that O_O

Even if it is a bug, i hope

Even if it is a bug, i hope it stays. Recon and Guard need all the help they can get. This update was very cool for recons.

Adding a little puff of smoke would be cool though, the disappearing act is just scarey. Makes me think i just lost track of them through the 5fps i was getting due to polaris fire.

I saw this bug, its not a big

I saw this bug, its not a big deal, just makes a little bit difficult to spam-finding them.

"The enemy attacks you and disappears and you have no idea where to hit."
I thought it was Recon's natural ability, hit and cloak, isn't it?

But since it is a bug, +1.

You know the "sparkle" animation you get when a recon cloaks while you're watching them in spectator mode? do that.

Doctorspacebar Use a bomb. It'll keep you from being Recon-Assassinated.

But Strikers get bomb CTR reduction! They'd have to use guardian or recon for that to be viable!

XD

Also, as a recon fan, instant-disappearance does seem to be a bug, but on the other hand, before, you used to be able to see recons take at least 1-3 steps while they were disappearing. That's disappointing.

I exclusively play recon, and

I exclusively play recon, and this doesn't seem to be making me particularly notably more effective than usual. It's interesting and can bothersome to fight, but as far as a class buff goes, this is pretty poor. And it definitely does seem more like a bug.

More than this, the Black Kat Cowls in Lockdown are going to break things for everyone, but probably buff Strikers more than the other two classes, so there's that, too. Striker max damage + max asi + msi low + 2 heart pendants, or worse: wear with mercurial to get ultra damage + max asi + msi med + 2 heart pendants with freeze AND shock resists. And on top of that, it buffs sword-striker Polaris damage by three points. As a recon, I'd love a cowl and probably start using a sword. So like UVs, here's another ultra rare item that makes you more effective in Lockdown.

u Wanna play recon?

Ye wanna play recon like a boss, don't ye? Now listen carefully, Before dissappearing, make a move example to the right, then after 3 seconds you cloaked, change direction.The enemy will have only 5%chance of seeing u change direction,But if you want perfect unknown direction even its cloak risking, DONT MOVE FOR 3-5 seconds( best result is 5 seconds, ABSOLUTELY not seen, i cant guarantee about 3) when u just pressed the shield button A.K.A. cloak button in this case, Your enemy wont see it for real and absolute.So then yeah.

Wait a second...why is it strong to freeze? Is that balanced?

@Autofire

Well, let's check.

Chaos Cowl
+2 sword damage, gun damage, bomb damage
+2 sword ctr, gun ctr, bomb ctr
-2 fire, freeze, shock, poison, curse

Let's just assume a point of anything is worth 1 point for simplicity even though balance doesn't work that way. +6 points for damage, +6 points for CTR, -10 points for resist for a total of +2 points.

Black Kat Cowl
+3 sword damage, gun damage, bomb damage
+1 MSI
+3 freeze
-2 fire, shock, poison
-3 curse

+9 points for damage, +1 for MSI, +3 for freeze, -9 for resists for a total of +4 points.

Black Kat seems to come out on top, yeah. Then again, my balance system is a bit on the flawed side:

Volcanic Demo
+2 bomb charge
+3 fire

For a total of +5 points.
