Okay, so I decided to throw some common sense in here just so this can hopefully have any sort of impact on the event.
Let's assume it takes four minutes to run a Candlestick Keep level, with 25 Kats in each, and that the Black Kat spawn rate is 1%. That's approximately 16 minutes and 40E for one BK.
666/3 = 222 Kats. 222 x 16 / 60 = 59.2 hours and 8880E.
Sixty hours and 9k CE seems like a reasonable enough grind to be guaranteed a book, but lets say we made it 'fairer' for people who already got their BK Cowls and amped it up to the not-so-amusing 1k token mark.
333 Kats = approximately 90 hours and 13500 CE. A bit excessive, but it leaves the hat extremely valuable.
I mean, seriously, come on, the book has what seems like a 1% drop rate from an enemy that appears 1% of the time.
EDIT: Ignore energy values if you want to factor in an elevator pass.

Why are the people doing these calcs doing so with the assumption that everyone has either elevator passes or enough money to blow off running straight through a level without collecting crowns? How about increasing that 4 minutes to 5, 7, or even 10.

Fair enough; I'll do both calculations with 28 minutes per Kat and 25E, to mimic the general timing of someone without a pass.
222 Kats x 28m///25E = 103 hours///5550E
333 Kats x 28m///25E = 155 hours///8325E
That's... ouch.

These items are like a haunted aura, hacked aura etc. This book is rare and this what helps OOO make money say you want it you will search all the clockworks to find it and you only have 100 mist. It will force you to buy ce either with cr or with money. Don't have that much cr? then you buy it with real money. The money is used to pay the employees who in return make the game a better place. And if you have enough crown to get ce this ce which you buy comes when people buy the ce with money and make profits in the game.
PS i am just 14 years old and i could figure out this then why can't people like you do?
Plus don't you think that the people at mooncraft manor are trying to get the archives back instead of selling these books and anyway a KAT when eats this book won't it digest in their stomach except in a few cases.
MY advice to you is stop making such pointless threads and start searching it for yourself. And most people like Night-rove will disagree with me since i did something bad with them.

Time to put on my argument face.
"haunted aura" These are luck based, only available to Pay-to-play players. Technically they deserve it, as much as they deserve any other halloween stuff.
"This book is rare" Yes, it is rare, but it is available to everyone. On top of that, it lets you have a stunning chance to fight against maragel (whatever name it is), and receive a 5* hat which is outrageously powerful. It is not some mere cosmetics. That what makes it unfair. If you are a pay to play, you might not get it, if you are a free to play, you might get it on your first try. This means anyone can be a millionaire (the book is sold for 1milcr on the ah right now)... Unfair, isn't it?

I hunted approximately 500 spookats, out of which i met only 10 black kats. Not to mention I hunted near 250 spookats in Scarlet Fortress and not a single black kats are found in them. So far I have about 50 tokens, and it is, on some basis, unfair to me.

If you're going to be condescending, you should at least have decent ideas supporting you. /e lets out a deep sigh.
The difference between a haunted aura and a book is that one is merely a cosmetic and the other leads to a very fun boss fight with a powerful item as a reward for all your hours wasted grinding and grinding. While it's true that this is 'give us your money' disguised as an event, that content hidden via the book might as well be nonexistent for 80% of the playerbase.
Don't even think of using logic there, this is a video game, things can go weird. It makes you look desperate for something to rag on, anyways.
Your advice is horrible. If I have a minute chance to make an impact on this event or a future one through a thread like this for the better, then I will.
