Lag causing disturbing player graphical glitches?

I was playing that mold and black magic mission, and in the final battle, the crazy but common lag hit me, so I was zooming around the map. But as I did, my character would blow in and out of proportion incredibly fast and his body parts would stretch out everywhere and fly across the map. It was like what happens to characters in cartridge tilting for the N64.

Here are the couple of screenshots I could take while it was happening, it doesn't do the actual glitch justice but whatever.

Ah, yes, the common packet loss lag.

Typically if you lose your packets, you will start to move out of boundaries. The game engine, however still exists and what happens is, you are technically standing on top of the walls/gates. Perspective wise, it looks more like you are closer to the camera, therefore larger.

Tip? Don't try to lag.

Well, I get the

Well, I get the bigger/smaller part now, thanks to you. And that makes sense. The only other part is the weird body parts flying across the map, which has never really happened before, though the other things have. I said the pictures didn't do it justice and that the only thing I could compare it to is cartridge tilting.
Here is a video of what my character did, comparably.

Is that still just explained by the game engine?

Also, whether you were being sarcastic or not, are there any actual tips not to lag?

I am unsure of what and how "bodies flying about" deals with anything, if it is truly similar to what is depicted in the video, I suggest reinstalling the game.

Tips? Packet loss issues are more common an issue with the end user. I don't see the server lag so heavily of recent, but it still lags time to time.

#1, my case of double-unbridged connections. Please utilize only ethernet or wifi, never both.
#2, if you don't have that issue, please contact your isp
#3, if you use dial-up, please switch to the more common internet plans with ISPs.

I recently experienced some

I recently experienced some lag issues as well, so I am passing on advice I got from a friend. If you are comfortable with computers, it may help you pinpoint the source (although you may be SOL when it comes to fixing it).

1. Do as Laffy says, and stick to one or the other. Wired is typically better.
2. Figure out the IP address of the server SK is talking to. You can use something like Microsoft Network Monitor 3.4; there might be easier options too. For US players, you will likely be talking to one of Amazon's EC2 instances based in Virginia.
3. Use Winmtr to trace your communication to the SK server. You won't get a response from every router along the way, but you should get enough responses to figure out which hops your packets are getting held up at (latency) or if they are getting eaten somewhere (loss)

If it is serious packet loss, try pinging some other websites and game servers to see if the packet loss is universal; in general, if you get significant packet loss your ISP will investigate and attempt to fix (it may take a lot of followup to get them in action though). However, if it's just latency (congested router), they usually won't do anything, which sucks. Depending on where the problem occurs, they may not be able to do anything about it either.
