Funny story about the Book of Dark Ritual and a noob

Let's get some time away from the obnoxious grind we are all getting through to read this wonderful and quite funny story

It all started yesterday, I logged on SK after my 7-10AM meeting thinking to myelf "god I'm going to have an awful day... *YAWN*" (woke up at 5AM to get there)

I already looted the Book of Dark Ritual and got my Black Kat cowl (been like 2-3 days) so I wear it to show it off in Haven. Meet an old pal so we start to chat (the guy is not really good at SK, hence why he is an old pal). So he ask how do I get Black Kat Cowl? So I explain to him "Black kat, blablabla, Moorcroft Manor, blablabla Book of Dark ritual"

So then he goes "The book of dark ritual? Oh so that what it was...? -__-"

After some more chit-chat it finally sunk into me. It took a good 5 to 10 minutes of continuous "Are you serious?" "you kidding me?" This guy (that genius)... sold the Book of Dark Ritual....................to a NPC because he sells all his mats that way. He thought "wtf is that? Oh well I'll sell it"... The guy was obviously mad at himself for being so... well... to quote himself "I'm so dumb!"

The Book of Dark Ritual is worth roughly 1.2 million cr now at AH? I just killed the boss for a friend who bought one for 15k ce and 250k cr like 20 minutes ago

It makes me laugh and I feel so bad for him but god that is so funny...

So after all that and a goodbye to my old sad friend I thought to myself "My day ain't that bad finally..."

Edit: it sold for 50 cr to a NPC if you are wondering >.<

There are certain types of materials that nobody ever buys from AH, ever, and given the alternative is dumping several thousand Ecto Drops into the guild treasury for epeen, I think most people would rather vendor them all.

At least WeeGee still collects Light Sha- I mean, cheese.

This is why

I let that nagging voice in my head saying "am I going to regret this?", "will I ever need this in the future?" and "do I really know enough about the thing I'm about to do?" live in my skull. Well that and because it was either that or YOLO.

Also does this guy, when it comes to SK, live in a hole or something to not know what is going on cause my god, how could you not know about the book

can i meet him? haha i'll buy all his mats at vendor price! xD realy... who the hell vendors mats? xD (ok maybe ecto drops but still haha) just look at a plasma cell (think one of the more rare 5* mats) they are worth a nice 5K crown in AH :)

and god just the tought of blowing 1 milion crown out the window like that... i feel ashamed just reading the OP hahaha.

Yes he his bad at this game. Yes I think he is (somewhat) noob. I also believe he's young

No I don't know why he sells his mats to a vendor. I have told him to not do that and check AH for price... and I'm just as baffled as you are. I don't... I mean... Scrap metal and ecto drop okay but mats like... IDK BOOK OF DARK RITUAL sells for quite a bunch...

Do you think he sells his SL mats thinking to himself "that's worthless"

P.S. No I won't tell you his name. I shouldn't even tell this story, so obviously I won't give names
