OK, so i've done weight of darkness, and alone in the dark 100+times, i have found 36 kats, and still no book. And I know a whole bunch of people who have 4 boooks. All I can say is howwwww. I'm sick of going through candlestick, again, and again. So... Just post where you gt your boook people, and make it easier for those who don't them yet.
How in the world do some people get 4 books!

4 books?
I have gotten 4 books. One was supposed to be mine but as Orion said, one learns how greedy people can be upon getting one and a deal was not kept. I consider this book to be mine although I never got it in my Arsenal. It was in my party, no matter. Another, I used to fight Margrel to get the Cowl and two otehrs still lie in my inventory. I could sell these and get rich. But I won't. Why? I have greater morale than that. I just want to help friends and family (i.e. Shadow Aeonic Doom) out. Still don't know who the lucky guy(s) and/or gal(s) will become.
36 Kats is not a lot, by the way. I estimate drop rate to be 1%.

i guess being greedy its part of everyone, i just like the rare drop being a bit valuated. maybe im greedy a bit but not at all. from all of my 4 books i used one, gifted one to a friend and officer of my guild because he helped me a lot with it without want something in return, and i guess he deserved the book so much. and i still keep 2 for myself.
and yes i guess Arcade its where you can have more chances to find a book since i got my four books there every fourth cat (well with my luck) i just wanted people guess where. so fallconn get a cookie for the right answer! *give cookie to fallconn*
i dont know if arcade drops more books or mission drops book too, it just speculation. but at least for me where i got more books its from arcade, not mission but could work different for someone. maybe someone can come here and post they got 7 books on mission, who know. but i just want to believe that arcade have more chances in a hope to give arcade a bit more of like that really need.
Just my thought.

For my part I've hit over 300
For my part I've hit over 300 tokens (farming so much too...) and only ever had a glimpse of a book by joining another party in Alone in the dark (mission). According to my event hub, I've completed 300 levels all in farming Weight of the Darkness.
If I calculate my chances, removing the parties I got invited to in order to beat up a black kat, I very well completed about 270 levels on my own or with a party (starting in lobby) in that specific mission to get about 220 tokens meaning i've met about 70 kats by my own means in 270 tries. It's a very rough estimate because some levels have more than 1 kat, but with the big numbers, it comes down to about 25% chance to meet a black kat on my missions.
So books do drop in missions, and I really wonder if we can speculate that they drop more in Arcade. I think it's more like, people get one in the arcade and only go there afterwards, and based on their luck, they get more books or not.

i guess what i want to make clear and Nova-Xv too its It just matter of luck.
there people that they find a books or kats in mission they keep doing missions because they got their kat there and the book too.
there people like that found the cat and the book on arcade then we keep farming there because we believe we can find lot of kats there.
just matter of luck the only way to know the truth its Nick posting the chance to find black kat but we know they never will reveal that data. i just do arcade because i like to relive old times when events like this were only in arcade. so basically no one have the answer to that question because people opinion will differ. sometimes i find 2 kats on the same spot in arcada sometimes i found 2 kats on different spot in mission. even we went to SL because a guildie wanted to make his snarby set and we got a Black kat in middle of the first arena with snarby. what a luck eh?
So basically its really matter of luck and farm were you believe you will be lucky. either arcade or mission.

dunno i guess im lucky but that would devaluate the price of teh book :c so i dont want to tell but...
