Question towards those "Hammer haters and Polaris haters"
Whenever someone kills you with them, why do you call them a noob? A noob means someone who is new at something, so if you call them a noob when they kill you, then it would seem as if your insulting yourself. Noobs don't "pwn" unless they're extremely skilled already. Why do you hate the "Polaris spam" strategy? It's effective, so how is it bad?
For those who hate hammers: Hammers are a great weapon, those who wield it deserve it for buying and completing the expansion (which is worth it). If they kill you with the hammer, "hammer noob" isn't the right thing to say, because you're saying that they are new with the hammer, but if they kill you with it, then they obviously have some skill.
In other words, if someone kills you, don't call them noob, because it just makes yourself look bad.
Lockdown Haters
True, then again noob can also be an offensive way of saying new person, so why not say newcomer from now on?
That's what i generally try to do myself. Or just treat them as any other player, and just skip calling them "new" anything. Either way works
noob means someone who is "not" new to the game, yet posesses no skill and fails a lot.
for new players, we already have the word "newbie", which means someone who is new to the game and his/her skill level is currently unknown.
unfotunately, most veterans call new players "noob" anyway.

It's just the infamous source of misinformation known as the "Urban" Dictionary has labeled noob as a term for "Overall annoying/dumb/troublesome" people in a game.
And that's where people think that noob is an insult. And since it's so widespread and highly used. It's pretty much impossible to teach people what it really means....

I'm pretty sure "noob" and "newbie" are basically the same thing, and I'm very sure that "noob" means new at something, either way people use it as an insult when it shouldn't
I myself have been called a noob, many times in fact. Whether it be T1,2, or 3, that word has always stayed. I rarely use polaris, and my main weapon is a DA. I cannot see how I would even be called one. The only bad habit of mine would be killing an enemy after they killed several of my teammates. For some reason, they feel that I am a noob to not engage them directly.
Frankly, the hatred from the higher level lockdown class is sort of unjustified. I am part of a smaller group of T3 players who lack uvs (that's right. No asi, ctr, or defense uvs), and am often ridiculed because I lack those (I won't name names of those who poke fun at me). I just feel that others are saying this because they hate that fact that a uv-less player such as myself can hold my own against their op-ness. "Noob" is a term few people can use correctly, and those who abuse it can get stuffed for all I care.

Honestly the first 20 times i was called it. I was insulted to say the least.
But honestly i have been called it more times then Albert Einstein can count, and You eventually develop an natural tolerance to such words. It's just the players who are JUST starting to play SK that can get insulted by it.
Those who put those ranting about hammer threads should realize they make a big mistake, for they embarrass themselves because those who hate the hammer are the true "noob" instead of those who smack them with it

People call hammer users "noob" simply because they feel it is an exclusive and unique weapon. They assume it is overpowered, although they have not ever used it. However, if I'm a pro hitting 10 caps 10 defends and 40k damage a game, I'm the "real noob" because some guy got a lucky combo on me?

As for polaris, it's simply one of the most overpowered weapons in the game. The devs nerfed the RSS instead of polaris, which is one of the biggest insults I have received from them. Really? More hating on bombers now eh? RSS was the only viable DPS weapon for lockdown, and MANY BOMBERS and MANY REGULAR PLAYERS (like me) have come to love it.
Back to the subject at hand.
Play this scenario in your mind:
A 5* cobalt with a gran faust knowing NOTHING about the game goes in LD.
He repeatedly spams GF combo.
Some person who knows how to play accidentally runs into the combo.
This doesnt make person A (the person who knows how to play) a noob simply because he's telling the truth about the cobalt not knowing how to play.

Basically what Doc said, the term "noob" has become a universal way (internet-wise) of showing contempt at someone whose practices are generally disapproved by the person using the term, usually in a derogatory manner. It no longer represents the original meaning of the term in a colloquial sense (i.e. someone who is new at something) however, the word from which noob stems from, newbie or newb, can be and is still being used to denote someone, well, new.
Long story short noob no longer equals someone new though newb/newbie still does and people still actually use them whenever they actually mean "someone new".
As for people calling other people noobs, well they do so whenever they feel a sense of unfairness (you know, getting killed by a weapon they can't get, causing such an annoyance as to hinder their gameplay, getting killed by said annoyance, etc). There are more sinister reasons for intentionally cursing at someone (Had a teammate once who was trying to get me to call this one guy on the other team names to annoy/psyche him out and whatnot. He kept doing it throughout the match, very annoying to listen, erm well read, to. That person has been in my ignore list since.)
So we have the definition of "noob" subject out of the way I hope, but let's get to the actual point of the topic

but i dont. Lockdown is a MULTIplayer game.
Whats a better? an entire game where its just fun and you get the gaming exprience or a 'noob' game where everyone is trying to cheat each other with the cheapest ways possible.
The game can be played many ways, you don't spoil it for people by using polaris, they know it exists, therefore they must mature up and face the fact that the enemy uses it. So just live with the fact that it exists
I have a hammer and in all fairness I know why ppl dont like the hammer. For starters the speed is a lie I wouldnt mind its speed, but it needs to show in the specs. The 3* hammer's speed is exactly them same as a 4* Jalovec when you view the specs. Yet when you attempt to just use the first swing spacing the attack so its only the first swing of both weapons you notice how much faster the hammer really is. They need to fix the spec to show its true speed or reduce its speed to match the specs. Second it really is a click and go weapon you truely need no skill at all to use the weapon. I hate it when its spammed like crazy with no effort, but at the same time Im ok with it being in the game. Like I said I just wish theyd show its real speed in the specs.
The weapon seems fine to me
Im not saying the weapon isnt fine cause it is. But the specs arent they need to be adjusted to show what speed it really is. Also as long as people arent click and go spamaggedon with it Im fine too. I dont care if someone uses it strategicly and combos it with their other weapons. I just dont want them goin polaris spawn shooting crazy with it.

Usually polaris spawn spammers are just afraid to go out, well, that's what I did back in my first days of LD
No I mean when the winning team sits outside the other teams spawn and spams the area with polaris. So when they do come out they are most likely shocked and disposed of quickly not even giving them a fair chance.

Dr-Storm has obviously never used a Hammer in LD... or he would know you don't use AA on it unless you want to die. If you actually hit spot on with the dash (as you do if you use AA) than you end up standing right in front of your target, and consequentially take a GF combo to the face. No AA is much more useful as you can dash in their general direction, clip them, and keep going.

Hence why people call Polaris spammer and Hammer charger noob, there is no skill involve in this
Take the Target Locator in Halo Reach, get a killionaire... It's f**ing easy.
Take the DMR and pull a killionnaire... That's still f***ing easy but it takes skill to actually aim for headshots to get to 10 kills in under 4-5 seconds. Not just hold down the trigger far away and eat chips while you wait for an airstrike...
People call you noob because anybody could do it. I could take my 85 years old grand-ma and tell her "just press the mouse button whenever you see someone that is (insert enemy color here)".
That's what you are doing... The only difference is you think it takes some skill and doesn't understand why people call you noob...
A newb and a noob is 2 different things. A newb knows he's new to the game. A noob think everybody else is noob
Edit: Yes people call you noob because they rage. That's the ego boost system that LD was implemented with from the get go

AA spam with hammur when you eye closed is better than without AA...those AA turn can even detect recon...well ocassionally...or maybe it is just luck? :/...try it if you dun belive me :P
I have no real problem with hammur actually...like I always said, hammur are SLOW...counter it with fast weapon:D...or BOMB!

Somewhere along the D**ch bag history that is the internet, Someone had the idea that noob = idiot/jerk/troll/overall annoyance. And thus it stuck. And now people seem to throw the word around like nothing. I honestly find it very annoying when someone calls ANYONE a noob purely for playing the game fairly.
It also irks me cause noob does mean new person. And people use noob as an insult. But guess what. YOU WERE ONCE A NOOB TO! remember that when you are about to insult someone with the word "Noob" o3o
