You know the rare monsters: impostocubes, love puppies, etc. But most of them are just plain eye candy (except for the love puppy, since he can heal), and drop extra money/mats. It would be interesting to add rare monsters who are actually focused on combat like the black kats, but in a larger scale (at least one rare monster per family), and maybe special rewards for hunting down each one (tokens?). They would be able to be found both in the arcade and in missions, but they would be easier to be found in the arcade.
These rare monsters would be a nice way to add more content, and make the arcade popular again. Its also a good way to re introduce the tortodrone (as some sort of mini boss) back into spiral knights. I haven't had any ideas in detail of the mini bosses, but feel free to post ideas/artwork/etc.
Rare monsters suggestion
First of all, we are already in the suggestions section of the forum (you just posted a link to it, and basically said that i posted in the wrong section.), and second: yeah, i need to be more specific with my suggestions.
The idea is: add strong rare monsters, like the black kats, but for all families. Make them have rewards (maybe they can give tokens that you can trade for items or other stuff.), and they will have a slightly better chance of appear in the clockworks (still can be found in missions). I didn't design any monster in details since i'm not that good with balancing, but one of the best examples of what could be one of the rare monsters would be the tortodrone (stronger and harder to kill than most monsters, but he is still weaker than a boss). Adding this would certainly make the clockworks popular again.
I like rare monster because they drops more things...
if they increase the probability of rare monster appears , this could be more fun for all ...
Now what are these rare monsters going to look like?
How are they going to work?
What are the rewards going to be for killing them?
We need more information to work with; saying 'let it be so' isn't sufficient to make a suggestion.
1- I didn't think much on how the monsters will look like or act (going to add that soon).
2- They have a chance of randomly spawning in place of a monster of his family. (EX: a rare beast has a chance of spawning in place of any beast monster)
3- Besides more crowns/heat/mats, the initial idea was that the rare monsters dropped tokens, that you would be able to trade in for rewards. Dropping equipment wouldn't be a good idea since people would be simply able to farm theese monsters and win a lot of money selling equips. (pretty much what happened to tortodrone).
