So yeah. This is for everyone seriously considering a Winmillion that are not, but also this is a post to most likely ridicule the Winmillion, but I'll start us off on a good note:

Having used a Winmillion for a long while, I can say that it's a great utility sword for many purposes:

It is very good at chasing down a single target due to the fact that it stuns an enemy from afar with it's disc and you then leap through the air to bash it around and knock it down. 2 or three of these relentless attacking patterns usually is enough to kill anything. Also, due to it's very wide swing, you can sometimes trap several tightly packed enemies into this mean spirited stun knockback knockdown kill combo.

You can trip switches from afar due to it's energy discs.

If you're fast enough, you can tackle turrets as they are coming up and do enough damage to interupt their first volley of bullets, a second full combo more than enough to kill them.

It does normal damage, so it is reliable against everything.

If you get good enough with it, you can attack constantly and never block, instead using the large movement of the sword to not be hit. Basically, this sword was meant for Bruce Lee: "Best block?...Best block is no be there." I may be paraphrasing.

There are a few other neat points to the Winmillion, but then it's lack luster damage output and missing 5th star form really hurt it's usability. However, it is a fun weapon that can actually do some serious damage when you've mastered it. AND hopefully, sometime soon, it shall receive a much needed buff or that legendary, mythical 5th star level.

Now that I've said all that, arm yourself with tomatoes and do your worst, but then please suggest what you think a 5th star winmillion sword could entail.

thanks

I've never used Winmillion, so I like hearing balanced, thoughtful opinions from people who have. Thanks.

One of your remarks intrigues me: "...you can attack constantly and never block, instead using the large movement of the sword..." This is also true of Warmaster Rocket Hammer. Have you used that? If so, how do they compare, in your opinion?

Well, I don't have a WRH, but I can imagine that, while of course the WRH greatly out-powers the Winmillion, the Winmillion has a niche over it in that it has Normal damage instead of pure Element, and of course has the discs to pause enemies further out.

A familiar feeling to switch-shooters.
I felt a little sad for Winmillion reading it, since a lot of this applies to guns when switch-shooting is an option - with the additional bonus that with lighter guns, you can move while doing it.

One thing I'm interested in though:

"Stunning enemies from afar" --> interruption? I thought you needed to break a certain damage threshold for that to happen.

Hey there! Yeah, I think there is a damage threshold, but the winmillion has a very strange attack pattern that is most noticeable against zombies. Almost simulatenously with the disc hitting, your character advances the space into a first slash, followed immediately with a second disc and slash and then third disc and slash. Usually, the second slash or third disc is enough to cause knockdown. I'm not sure on the mechanics, but I have seen the Winmillion reliably interupt late tier 2 monsters, lumbers even unable to attack after a fast 3 disc and swing combo at a high speed bonus. Remember, even if I'm not doing as much damage as many other weapons, the Winmillion is *Fast*.

but is it fast, really?

According to a recent discussion, Winmillion's combos are slower than the Brandishes' combos. Of course, complete combos are not the only way to measure speed, but I'd like to see more evidence, to be convinced that Winmillion is fast.

The purpose of the winmiilion

I have always thought of winmillion as the ultimate side arm for bombers. It fits all of the utility purposes: breaking low bushes, breaking blocks that obstruct your path, safely detonating explosive blocks, hitting switches and quickly breaking crystals. Before bombers become epic (aka 5 star) it is also a good source of damage which can be used to interrupt the bomber nightmare that is turrets, and can be used to clean up the stray enemies.

I made an Winmillion during the 2012 dark harvest, and I had pretty low expectations going in. I made it mainly to see if I could get a more fun alternative to my Master Blaster, and I guess it kind of does. To be honest, it feels to much like a calibur with bullets tacked on as an afterthought. It does work out fairly well as a sidearm, combining the functionality of a sword and gun, but it doesn't really excell in either area.

I would personally like to see the lunge on the first swing brought back.

I have used winmillion for quite some time. Winmillion's combo is actually incredibly good, except for the part where it does next to no damage- if you're going to seriously try to use it, you'll want to get amazing ASI and amazing damage for your swords.. then, and only then, will the winmillion deal damage worth mentioning. When compared to unboosted swords.

@fehzor and everyone

@fehzor with max sword damage my winmillion still did nothing mention-able for damage. If I remember correctly my DVS dealt only a few points less per swing and could strike with considerably more attacks in the same time.

Vile Striker does same damage

Vile Striker does same damage as Winmillion, but Winmillion has a shorter combo, so I assume DVS has more damage

Yeah. It almost dealt damage similar to the base numbers of an actual sword.

As far as the actual comparison goes: Dread venom striker is remarkably similar to the rocket hammer in cornering or otherwise immobilizing enemies will benefit you greatly. Winmillion on the other hand requires the opposition to be further away. Normal sword combos would lose out from that; winmillion gains damage, winmillion also relies on knockback, so freezing/paralyzing enemies isn't going to help it. Winmillion is really the odd one out here though, as it always is; like comparing cheeseburgers, hamburgers and egg salad sandwiches.
