I want to go to the Shadow Lair, but the keys are so expensive. What is a cheaper way to get one?

If you are lucky, lockboxes are a way to go.

Otherwise buy it off AH, there are some people willing to sell it cheaper than 1800ce worth.

Other ways include sharing the price of a key, since you would probably go with a team of 4 anyway.

Actually, the split cost is 450ce per knight, since a shadow key is 1800ce.

The gap youkai is wondering.

Why is there a fee? I mean yes you would certainly want people to pay but some people don't want to pay. Couldn't you just get enough or more and then say the cost is free?

Oh and yea look at post #1

Admittedly, Shadow Lairs are the only parts of the game that I still thoroughly enjoy. Why? Because everything else I've grinded into oblivion. I cannot count how many times I've paraded through FSC, but only within the last month have I had to resort to my toes when counting my SL runs. The same thing applied to the Danger Missions, but they also have been slowly drifting towards annoyance.

I agree that the fee is really high, and it is really daunting. However, thinking of it as a 4-man effort, and not a 1-man effort really helps afford the cost.

Purchase direct from another knight.

Often there are people who buy SL keys whilst they're on a discount sale, and are willing to pass on some of that discount to you. Buying through the AH means that the AH will get a cut of any potential profits (10%), meaning that the item is likely to be priced rather higher to compensate. Also, most SL runners will be willing to pay some of the cost of a key, although some are reluctant to pay to run a SL that they've done several times before.
