Alrighty, this is starting to annoy me. The amount of times that I've spent 100k on a voltech alch is really annoying me. Ok, I'll get to the point. I 'protest' that there should be a withdraw bid button on the AH. Any opinions?

Withdrawing Bids
Well, alrighty xP

Mmm. Yes... I hadn't thought of that... I might update something in the morning if I can be bothered but now I don't feel quite so shut down. Lol. But yes, I see where your heading.

Posts insane bid on an item.
Waits till time is at very short.
Removes insane bid.
Places low bid.
That last problem can be fixed by making it so that you can no longer bid on the same item after removing your bid.
Well in real life when you bid on something you can't take it back so the devs are just trying to recreate a real idea in the game. -1

The game isn't meant to stop you from being stupid.
You may lodge a claim to remove a bid within 5 minutes of placing that bid, and only if that item had not been bidded on 5 minutes prior to you bidding on it. 10 minutes after you bid on the item, your bid is removed successfully, and the auction is marked as such to notify other bidders.
"You are obligated to complete the transaction with the seller if you purchase an item through one of our fixed price formats or are the highest bidder as described below, unless the transaction is prohibited by law or this User Agreement. If you are the highest bidder at the end of an auction (meeting the applicable minimum bid or reserve requirements) and your bid is accepted by the seller, you are obligated to complete the transaction with the seller, unless the item is listed in a category under the Non-Binding Bid Policy or the transaction is prohibited by law or by this Agreement. By bidding on an item you agree to be bound by the conditions of sale included in the item's description so long as those conditions of sale are not in violation of this Agreement or unlawful."
-Generic Online Auctioning ToS
However, most auctioning systems have an option to withdraw a bid, after a lengthy verification purpose. This most likely won't work for Spiral Knights: GMs have better things to be doing than to be correcting people's misbids.
In the case of the Auction House, where we do not have a method to identify who is selling us the item, nor do we have a way to correct a misbid. I do agree that some sort of auto-rectification process could be implemented. The problem that stands currently however, is upon being outbidded, your money is immediately returned to you. What do you expect to happen when you withdraw your bid? For the money to be stolen back off the person and dumped onto the item that you outbid them on?
Please suggest mechanics, not just empty ideas.
