I like bosses.

UMBRAUG, KING OF THE CHROMA DRAGONS\
(along with Venogrundigus, the just plain mean poisonous ice Chroma Dragon, Yorgelboltir, the mean and ferocious stunning thunder Chroma Dragon, and Conflagrhind, the ferocious cursed fire Chroma Dragon)

Yes, another Chroma Dragon. What can I say? Dragon Scales gotta come from something. Umbraug's battlefield is on a mountaintop that you cross to from a wooden rope bridge. Whose bright idea was that? Probably Umbraug's, it makes a perfect trap for knights once the party button is pushed since he can (and does) burn it away immediately at the beginning of the fight. How is there a mountain in the Clockworks, you ask? Gremlin engineering, my friend. It defies logic. There's one of every type of Chromalisk (even the Kleptolisk) respawning on the mountaintop.

Immediately, Umbraug, easily recognizable as the blinkin' huge black-scaled Chromalisk with wings, will begin hovering just out of reach, spitting various things at you. Like your typical dragon, he can spit fireballs. Of course, he can also spit ice balls, poison blasts, and ball lightning. Pssh, you thought that was a rare natural phenomenon? Umbraug just burps it out like it's nothing. All of these attacks cause a status effect as well as split Piercing and Elemental damage. He can also flap his wings really fast to blow you backwards against the sides of the arena. Oh, and while he's out of reach, he's immune to most projectiles.

Occasionally, Umbraug will fly off, and then you'll see his shadow hovering above the arena. Watch out. He will proceed to drop a series of objects that include boulders, giant five-ton weights, anvils, computer monitors, missiles, various Shard Bomb types, Mecha Knights, Rock Jellies, and... Kats? The Kats float harmlessly down, the Rock Jellies splatter for a moment before pulling themselves together and attacking, the Mecha Knights do a downward thrust as they land and cause a beeping EXPLOSION (followed by them starting to attack), Shard Bombs explode like they usually do, missiles (usually) explode and do elemental/Fire damage, computer monitors (usually) explode and do Shadow/Shock damage, and everything else will hit for normal damage and Stun, then fade away or crumble. Up to six more monsters can exist after this attack; excess monsters are insta-killed.

However, it's this attack that makes Umbraug vulnerable. When a computer monitor or missile doesn't explode, you can pick it up and chuck it at Umbraug to make him have trouble flying and force him to land. NOW he's vulnerable, and is fought much like you fight most Chromalisks. Weak to Piercing, strong to Elemental. He'll also be afflicted with Fire or Shock initially, depending on what you knocked him down with. He'll be vulnerable for about fifteen seconds before taking off again. While he's on the ground, he can use a piercing Claw Swipe, his projectile breath attacks, and a ground slam that knocks Knights away, as well as a projectile-deflecting Wing Shield (much like a Mecha Knight's).

When he takes enough damage, the Chromalisks and their Spawn Pads will disappear, while Umbraug will remain out of range, not dropping anything. You have to fight three Chroma Dragons in succession. The first, Venogrundigus, is big, green, and has green-tinged ice crystals on his head. He can use a Claw Swipe, or breathe out a stream of poisonous icy breath that causes Poison and Freeze. The second, Yorgelboltir, is bigger, and has two metal horns with electricity jumping between them. He can use a Claw Swipe, a tongue-sweep (think a Chromalisk, but it swings its tongue in an arc), or a stream of asphyxiating electrified breath that causes Stun and Shock. The third, Conflagrhind, is even bigger, has red scales, and his eyes are constantly on fire. He can use a Claw Swipe, a tongue-sweep, a jumping slam that Stuns and Burns, or a stream of accursed fiery breath that causes Curse and Fire.

Finally, Umbraug will fight with you for the last time. He can use the projectile breath attacks, a Claw Swipe, a tongue-sweep (that STEALS ALL YOUR USABLE ITEMS), a jump attack that Stuns, Burns, and Poisons, and all of the different breath stream attacks the three other dragons had, as well as his Wing Shield. He can also fly up and drop a bunch of things like he did before, and has one new attack; he can roar and summon EIGHT CHROMALISKS of a single type!

After Umbraug takes enough damage, he'll stumble backward to the edge of the stage, before falling off, roaring as he goes. Cue tokens, victory music, and all that.

Well, that's all I've got time for. Calculus awaits. See you around!

It needs a new map feature where you can shout at the dragons.

CALCULATUS ELIMINATUS

A tad harsh, no? Giving him the ability to inflict ALL statuses means bringing anything that has any status weakness very dangerous. The fight seems very long, too. Also making him able to spawn Chromas, Mechas, Kats and Jellies means there are things inflicting well, everything, statuses and damage types, during the boss battle. One should also note that three weapons would be required to inflict super effective damage vs everything present there.

@Krakob, Or you could use this thing called normal damage, and do decent damage to everything.

A reason to use normal weapons and varied defensive armour? Well we can't have any of that.

Inflicting multiple statusesuses at the same time is derp. There should be an indicator like the status icon appearing on their head to indicate which status their next attack may inflict. People would still be locked in with these freak flying lizards and their statuses all over the floor.

Naturally! =D
But must I remind you that OOO hates Normal da- wait, I don't because Zeddy made a topic about Normal Damage in LD and that more or less proves it.
Anyway, doing so is against the stratum model SK carries. Look at danger missions - in every single one, everything is weak to the same thing. Costructs are often paired with Gremlins, Slimes with Beasts, and Undead with Fiends. You should both be aware already.

Don't get me wrong, I like this suggestion a lot, I just think it needs some rebalancing and will probably have to follow OOO model if it's going to ever hope seeing the light of the day. Of course, OOO would probably adjust to this themselves but yeah, I fear it won't happen like this.

Wondering, were any of the bosses originally suggestions on the forums? :<

I based the names of the three dragons off the names of the dragons in that old Atari Adventure (Grundle, Yorgle, and Rhindle) that most of you, like as not, never played. Ah... that, right there, was a classic.

The three dragons can show what they're going to inflict with little trouble. A dying NPC could tell you, or they could just belch out obvious status indicators like poison bubbles and ice crystals. We have Lumbers inflicting two status effects at once, and we have Toxoils inflicting two status effects at once, and they get nasty combos (Fire+Poison and Shock+Stun), so I don't see why two status effects at once is so bad.

All types of enemy except Gremlins appear in FSC; Elemental damage, which is resisted by the fewest enemies in the stage, is strong against most enemies in the stage. FSC isn't too hard. And why should there be more use for specialized damage when it's already the modus operandi everywhere else in the clockworks?
