This guy kept saying subtle stuff about my mom just cause of my Asian name, dude was white, so me and him got in an argument but he got me temp banned and he didn't. Ignoring does not solve the problem here, I need the guys starting crap and then get away with it. It all started when his friend joined and I gave him heat but then he told me to shut up and he never said thanks. How exactly do we punish the growing troll generation? It's not a matter of ignoring anymore. It's a matter of wasting your energy and time with these random people that sometimes you have no choice but to be with.
How do you get random players to stop being an instigator besides ignore?
The dialogue would make it seem like I'm the one that should be punished but he was being subtle and not racist, but it'll offend the majority here cause they identify with the majority of the western world. But he was making fun of how I was trying to be gangsta. I was just saying that cause I told him where I lived and asked him to confront me since he won't tell me where he's from, and just kept going back to that mom privilege. I understand I'm beating the dead horse, but sometimes you gotta make these gamers back up their claims that they can just push any asian around. I was told by another member that he was white so I know he was using context here. This is too stressing and the internet and gaming is suppose to be less and less about stress.
Every ban is overlooked by a GM, if the GM thinks otherwise, then they may be right. You are making it look like a ban appeal instead. The only think I would look for now is the dialogues, without it, there is no solid proof.
Note that arguing by insulting or personally attacking the other guy can still be considered for bans, even if the other guy started first.
Probably doesn't get enough attention to feel validated. Do not lower yourself to arguing with a desperate person.
Just play the like it was a single player consonle game.
If you said to stop and he keeps typing stuff don't /ignore him it's best to just keep running the dungeon and pay no mind to the chat. At least that's what I do. Or when he get's really mad say "i love you too".
I'm just wondering how I got temp banned so quick. It's not like the GMs read the dialogue. It happened like 10 min after I got kicked and reported.
I don't think it's lowering myself though. I know the honor system is corny for people, but after awhile you just get real tired of this and wish there was some accountability for those that started it. Like you want people to back up their statements, and you just want to relieve some stress at the person that tried to create it.
And I don't want to say anything that'll empower the dude. I get sick of it, and it's the reason why these guys keep multiplying throughout time on cyberspace. If only we can just fairly dole out punishments without having to have good people having to participate in a system in this tech age and all. I just want to know if that guy got temp banned as well.
You should probably edit the title as well..It isn't nice to say bad things on the forums...
step 1 : become hacker
step 2 : find him
step 3 : eat his kidney while he still alive
@Ranzoh "It's not like the GMs read the dialogue."
What evidence do you have to support this? Is there something wrong if they dealt with the situation quickly?
I've noticed GMs ALWAYS respond to reports and requests within 10 minutes.
I'm just wondering how the guy even got his way even when he didn't have to provide pictorial proof. We were going at it for like the whole level at 27 and the beginning of 28. The only other reason would be that the admins went through the logs on their servers without thinking about context or even including him for the double standard. They think I started all this. I've asked the admins just now to see if they got temp banned as well for instigating this. Douche is not really a common bad word, but I don't want to say punk cause it seems to empower people both young and old, and saying shut up is also rude. I realized it is bad because of sexist connotations, but I can't think up of anything else.
Hi!
I can't comment on someone else's account, and neither can the on-duty GM you're asking via support request, but if you'd like to see the chat that resulted in your suspension, please ask us via support request or e-mail and we'd be happy to show you which of your comments were objectionable. We do not constantly monitor dialogue (because that would be both very labor-intensive and very creepy), but we take action on all the chat that is included when someone makes a complaint*, not just the chat belonging to the person being complained. (On a sidenote, I don't see any use of the in-game complaint system by you about this person. If you want to make sure we're aware of chat so that we can take the appropriate action, please use a complaint to let us know it's happening.)
This is a general reminder, and not aimed at Ranzoh in particular; this just happens to be a relevant place to put it: Please keep in mind that you are only responsible for your own behavior, not that of others. Someone else breaking the rules (which making racist comments certainly would be) is not an excuse for rulebreaking yourself. I've mentioned using the complaint system above - that is the correct way to stop someone from being a jerk, rather than descending into jerkitude yourself.
Thanks!

*Your comment about pictorial proof makes me think that perhaps you're not aware, but whenever a knight files a complaint, a server log of recent chat they've seen is automatically appended. We don't actually use screenshots due to their alterable nature.
I understand, but even though I may have prolonged it it still shouldn't have put this guy in the clear. I was waiting on a featured auction prismatic eyes, and I've been wanting them for about a month now, and I will not be playing Spiral Knights as much, and these things don't come out as often. It was just on long or ending on very long status, and I missed my chance cause of the 2 day ban. I just want to know if there was any action taken against the perpetrators because of this? I mean, the reason I talked back to those guys is cause I knew you guys wouldn't be temp banning them even if I tried to report maybe cause you could identify with them. I mean you say that you could only temp ban someone from looking at the last lines of the last log in, but you won't look at what they said earlier, I already said the guy told me to shut up after I didn't say anything bad about him, and he never thanked me for giving him heat. They communicate like friends but was being subtle with the chat with me within a context. Can't believe that called for a 2 day ban though.
Honestly, I would just forget about it Ranzoh, for me it is an honour for me to see Hyperion and shout be a even bigger honour for you to be the one speaking to Hyperion. I myself got reported from underage, when i am OVERage, but still its just awesome to meet Hyperion. And your banning has been for only 2 days, whereas mine has been forever. So hope you cheer up soon! And by the way the same thing happened to me before, but i just ignore it and move on with the game. This game is meant for fun! People like those don't respect the fact that the GM's have been spending years just to make a game enjoyable to people from different countries! So enjoy the game and ignore people like that. If he keeps on harassing you, then report him/her.
No.1 No vulgarities
No.2 Tell me how you argued, and how he argued. I rather see your dialogues.
