So I started playing SK again, and there's one thing I'm a bit confused about.
In the game options, there is the "Region" drop-down menu, where you can choose between USA and Europe. What for?
Does it make any difference (as in, will I only see players from the same region or something)?

Also, there's that one thread where players complain about having troubles with the European server. Does that mean there is an EU and a US server?
That might be kinda dumb question, but well... :)

My second question is, regarding the costumes, is there a "Fancy Raiment" costume (like the Hallow Raiment, but purple)?

two server farms

It used to be that all SK servers were in the eastern USA. So players in other parts of the world would experience big latencies in their connections. Then a new server farm was added in the EU, so that players in Europe (and maybe northern Africa and western Asia?) could have lower latencies. In the region preference, you are choosing which server farm you want to make your default.

Whether you are on the USA or EU servers, you can interact with and party with people on the other servers. For example, I live in the USA. When I join a party whose leader is in the EU, then the party is on the EU server. I experience much higher latencies (two bars instead of four) than when I'm on a USA server.

By the way, there are also servers in Asia now, but those seem to be handled differently --- more of a completely separate copy of the game world.
