Jumpers are part of the Gremlin Knocker family, which are all midgets and take a really long time to wind up for attacks which spread over a small area. As such, defensive armour isn't really all that necessary, unless you're running tests on how much damage they don't do, or get swarmed somehow. They don't even dodge your attacks, just sort of scurry around at random.
Circuit Breaker makes for nice costume armour but ends at 3*, so really isn't the best choice. The Magic line would be better.
It's a hobby of the New Recruits forums. Please don't ask me why, we had a whole spate of them once, and you couldn't move for the things. Some of them were more entertaining than others, though... I think Aplauses had a list of '40 noob questions' that was quite amusing, too.
I just ask sily questions to see if someone fails them. Everyone knwos the basic monster names, but a few are aware of status variants.
