Sorry if I'm bringing up anything already stated in a thread. Is it possible to have an account and steam, and one on kongregate, and have the accounts' mist not be linked to each other? I know that paid players can have separated mist, but I don't really know if it would work with free players for the whole thing with steam+kongregate.

Thank you in advance for answering me, and sorry to bother anyone.

As far as I know, Steam,

As far as I know, Steam, Kongregate and Spiral Knights are all separate clients. Therefore they do not share the same mist tank (when using different knights on the same computer).

To anyone reading this, feel free to correct me on anything because I am not entirely certain myself.

If that were true you could make copies of the SK folder to have more mist.

Um, PROBLEM

IF all of these are unpaid accounts, they will all share Mist. Why? To determine Mist levels for F2P players, it takes the IP address. Different clients don't help.
Tested: Playing on 2 different computers on the same (unpaid) account gives 2 separate Mist tanks.

No Raisin, that is utterly false.

#1 Different clients do actually help when using more than 1 account, because the config info stored inside the game folders will be independent of each other, and that determines whose mist tank to be used. Steam client and Web client are thus considered 2 different computers because they have an individual config file inside their separated folders. They don't take IP addresses.

#2 Obviously you have not tested it, but playing on 2 different computers with the same account DOES NOT GIVE YOU 2 SEPARATE MIST TANKS. There is another config setting stored inside the server that determines the amount of energy you have. Switching computers would lead to the transfer of this config setting into the second computer you opened with, and the mist tank will automatically adjust itself to the amount that you originally left.

Thank you <3

Thank you zaffy for the answer. I tried a different SK on kongregate, and my character had a seperate mist tank from my main one on steam. Guess I'll be lugging around a mini me for a while :)
