At the end of a level, if we are not heating an item, allow us to spend it to move the slot machine up or down one.
Use heat to shift down the slot machine.

I don't think it would be too easy, since the contenders that show up can always be controlled. Almost all slot machines have a mechanic that allow you to do this. It just gives variety and more of a choice.

Heat doesn't have a visual number value, so how much would you use, and i think it would be too easy like little said so it should use about 50% of your heat and you get to spin again.

I'm thinking it would be like heating a lvl 1 item, so you might not even get the option if you die too much or join too late in the level. The virtual item would be a star level on par with depth.
Too easy. If anything, shuffle the pirces and spin it again.
