If wolvers, chromas, and Snarbolaxes are all weak to piercing,
WHY ARE THE ARMORS THEY ARE MADE OUT OF RESIST PIERCING??!!
Just a question.

Because when you craft it, you use energy and materials with magical properties.
Silly excuse but fits.

Maybe if you feed energy and green shards to a wolver they'll resist pierce too....

Or...

Pure common sense.
-Chroma stuff is for jellies, so Pierce resist is best for countering jellies too. (Volcanic Salamander is for hipster Oiler-killers.)
-Piercing defence is harmless (except jelly mobs, go figure) so the Wolver line gets the most useless defence in an attempt to balance it.

Snarby set defends against Shadow as a) Snarby is supposedly a beast of living shadows b) the Wolver line already has the other two defences at 5* c) it's black and red, so videogame armour logic.

Videogame armour logic: The cooler it looks the more likely it is to defend better against other cool-looking things. Go figure.

@ raisinfist

thanks for defining me a hipster Oiler-killer.
now, chroma. they are armor with family buffs against jelly, so they have pierce resisntance on one, while the other ones have elemental damage but still the family buff. that armor is absurd.
skolver. now that tracking on wolfers is removed, pierce def is useless. so this should be an only attack armor. they forgot GF and BTB.
practically, the devs 1 had those two things as the last ones 2 picked the things from a tophat.
